Hi, I just wanna know how the amperage of the battery affects the laser..

I have a 5mW green laser and the manufacturer recomend to use 3.6v, 880mAh batteries..

what happens if I use 3.6v, 1000mAh batteries?

Thanks

all that happens is the laser will run for a longer time.

the mah/amp rating of the batt gives you an estimation of run time assuming you know what load will be placed on the batt.

voltage is the important part. If not enough volts the laser wont turn on, too many volts and you could fry the laser driver and or the laser.

Also, always make sure that you have the correct charger for your batteries. not all charger are created equal.

Understood.. so I can buy any amp rating battery I just need to mind the voltage?
In that case, it's better to buy a high amperage one, right? cause they will last longer..

exactly! but the more different styles you see, youll notice that certain sizes reach a max amp rating.

Have fun, and remember to please be safe. These lasers really are no joke. if you took a shot to the eye, it would literally be like taking a hot soldering iron to the eye!! yikes
