Edit: I talked her into selling a single laser for testing, and that if they were this power with an IR filter, that I could set up a group buy. I also asked her for a discount on my test laser. (Especially because she was out of the red buttons at the time) She also said minimum 3 at first, and now it is minimum 6.

How much does the 250mW cost you? Btw, the horribly wrong thing was the lack of beam shots ;D But I see you added them , so it's just perfect.

And I think the second host looks pretty badass! It's like a weapon!

Her price for the 250mW IR filtered build without battery and charger is $369 shipped.

If it is what she is promising, it is a good price. Because DX has a 250mW laser for $488 which includes the battery, charger, and eye protection. But I doubt that it is IR filtered...

Just posting back about the Standstone11 250mW laser as promised. Susie sent me a single order for testing...



I must say, I am pretty impressed with this thing! As you can see, the host is very nice. It is very thick and solid. Heavy duty. Although it looks like an RPL, it is slightly different sized. It's about an inch shorter, and the barrel is a little smaller in diameter as well. I like that it is smaller.

I did some modification to the tail switch area to adjust the fit for the longer 'protected' battery. It was set up to take the non-protected size. I am waiting for her response to my question as to whether or not the laser has a low battery protection circuit built-in like the RPL's do.

In the mean time, I feel better using the protected battery for this power hungry monster.

I labeled it where the average power was. I was glad that the small LED light was slightly recessed. I put my label over it, because it was much too bright. It's a bright blue LED that can be used as a flashlight it's so bright! And it is plenty bright even with the label over it. Also, the button switch is normally red like the RPL's, but she said they were out of the red buttons and I told her it was fine for me...

It starts out at 400mW's and climbs to 463mW with in 30 seconds at normal room temperature.

Then it starts a steady drop in power to settle in right around 300mW's with-in the next 30 seconds. I left it on for about 1 1/2 minutes. The last 30 seconds, it fluctuates between 290mW's and 310mW's and is mostly staying at 296mW's to 300mW's area.

I repeated this same test several times with the same results.

You can see the IR filter mounted on top of the final lens if you take the top cap off. (with the sliding aperture cover)

The beam is 'fat' compared to my Nova and my RPL, and the divergence is not as good either. But for the price, it is fine for me!

All in all, I am very happy with it!

I'm considering buying one of these now. Athough I don't want to have to deal with these people.
Any chance of buying yours ?

I told her that I could become a U.S. distributor for her, because people would feel more comfortable buying through a trusted member who could measure the power output in advance.

I mentioned that if I did this for her, that she would have to keep up the good customer support that she has so far demonstrated with me, in the event there ever was a problem.

So I am waiting for her response...

Anyone in the U.S. interested? Go ahead and post back if you are, and this might turn into something here!

Possibly yes! But the only thing about that is the shipping. With-in the U.S., there is pretty much no worry. I can ship with insurance and signature confirmation for probably around $12 bucks. (it is heavy)

International shipping is about the same price, but without insurance...

Sounds good, if there is enough interest, I'm sure this could turn into something. Were not talking the same divergence like the Nova and RPL, but a lot of power in a good host, for a good price is great! I like it anyway. I like the 'fat' beam...
