Just got a green 532nm laser module from karlsson robotics. I'm not sure what to do with it later but for now I dropped it in a c6 host and so far it works off of 400mA at 3.7 volts. I think this laser is outputting well over 50mW, but for a $15 module, that's pretty good.
This laser must run off of 3.7volts to get a maximum output. Not only that I bridged/jumped the input resistor that feeds the current to the lm385 op amp to let the laser run more efficiently. I'm not sure why the manufacturer decided to put a resistor before the lm385 circuit. I think it was a little redundant. Here are the pics: :)
You can get this module here Components :: General :: Laser Module - Green

The beam specs on this laser is fantastic for a $15 module, this dot is 25 feet on the wall and the shape is a tight circle! Very good job on the manufacturers side!

Here's the module in a polished c6 host with a nice beam shot.

All the parts put into this build, pretty simple.

Overall I'd give this laser a 9/10 for its quality.

You don't actually add any numbers to the person's rep until you are around 70 rep power ( ~5000 points?)

What this means is, until you get some more, don't say "+1"

"+rep " is better

I know i used to, and i am sure i pissed some nitpickers like me off :p

Trust me, it is completely normal to want the power to add and take rep. But once you have it, its like, "meh"

Don't be power hungry :can: :gun:

Sorry, this is just a pet peave.

Nice build. I am pretty sure a fasttech module would do you just as much good for 1/3 of the price :)

Holy spring batman. Why not use a 18650 and get rid of that awful spring?

There are 2 different modules sold by Fasttech. Has anyone figured out which is the better
one?

Pman has said in a previous thread of his that the two are nearly identical (assuming you are talking about the 3v vs the 5v modules). The only difference Pman stated was that the 5v modules tended to gain a bigger increase in power when turned up to 430ma, whereas the power increase was not as great on the 3v version. I'll see if I can find the quote. EDIT: here ya go (at the bottom of post #203). Pman also stated that the 5v module is also slightly longer than the 3v.

And nice laser Npr. I like the polished c6 host

LOL, this system of reputation is weird...I feel like this forum is to modern for my understading limits.:D
Although I'm not a power wanter, I mean I'm not obsessed by this kind of power, but +rep for me isn't a bad thing:)
