So I got my 50mw green laser in my mailbox today. It arrived exactly on the 14th day, so I'm quite surprised as that's kind of fast. Since it shipped from china, that is. It's pretty heavy, maybe 1 - 1.5 pounds. Really solid case, and very sturdy. Here's my favorite part about it, you can adapt it to hold one or two AA battery's. Which means, if you buy a higher voltage batter there's no need to make a spacer :D
oh, and the laser was $14.97 with free shipping.

Here are some pics

With two AA batteries, it's about the size of a regular bottle of Dr. Pepper.

Half way through making it into a 1 AA battery compartment.

The laser with only 1 AA battery.

Notice it's almost half the size, now about the size of a swiss army type knife.

Sorry if the quality on some of the pics is bad, but these were taken with a 3.2 MP camera on my cell phone lol.

Yeah, I got one of these Focalprice 50mW as well.
But, I wasn't able to fit one AA (14500, that is) battery directly as is, I had to shorten the spring and drill
out the tailcap to make the single battery fit without that spacer tube.

Also, mine makes a real ugly big green splash when it turns on cold, and only becomes
a nice TEM00 dot after considerable warmup time.

I hope yours is better, and did you get it from Focal as well?

Yes, and I don't have either of those problems =/

Mine has a slight amount of splash around it on startup, but it quickly clears up. Mine was able to fit 1 AA, though. That's odd...

Dude I don't want be impertinent, but as additional info, I should say you that this focalprice 50mW model don't have 50mW in reality. I've had several of this, and none, is 50mW, as much, 30mW or a bit more. Price says it all.

I wasn't actually expecting it to be 50mw, but for the price it's really good quality. In the reviews some people's tested to be around 20-35mw and others were around 40-60mw so figured it'd be worth it either way.

Hey,

Congrats on getting the laser. Glad you didn't go with the IR laser.

I know that this has been stated to a nauseating degree in the previous thread, but please invest in some safety goggles. Also keep in mind that this laser probably has quite a bit of IR in it.

Buy a cheap IR filter to place over it: Small IR Filter and get a pair of good safety goggles.

Some lasers are cheap and a ton of furn, but eyes are all very expensive ;)
