I'm assuming you're relatively new to lasers (i don't know much myself)
Have you made sure you put the battery in + side facing the tail cap?
Have you charged the battery?
Does the charged battery work in other things? (rules out battery problems i guess)
If you did put the battery in the wrong way there may be a chance that it got broken because of that.
(if this is no help i'm sorry i don't know much but i thought i'd try :) )

yes i am very new to lasers and i did not get any charger! There is a lock on the laser pointer and the lock is not the best quailty because you can turn the whole lock a whole 360degrees. I have tried your help but it did not work. Thanks for help btw

Focalprice probably just scammed you they are a bad laser company. try to send it back for a refund and get a good 50mw laser from here Optotronics Product Details this is a great second or first green laser. It will pop black balloons if you are close to it and hold it steady and at night the beam is really bright.

if paddys advice didnt help you then your laser is most likely broken, return it.

my guess is that you need a charger for the battery b/c most of the times the batteries arn't even charged. btw, i can guarantee that your laser will not be anywhere near the 500mW they claim
