Since there's a Bank Holiday in Ireland today and the weather showed its nicer side (sunny with light breeze) I figured I'd do the comparison shots between the dots/spots outputs of the PL-E PRO 800mW with and without the BE.

Please note, there's no visible beam due to the daylight. The test was done at nearly exactly 30m range along a concrete wall originally 34m long, after cca. 2 meters less on both ends I took shots from the east and then west side. I've added the 180mW Ti(tanium) B 532nm laser spot as an additional comparison.

A generic 30cm long white-yellow plastic ruler with english and metric unit range (2-sided) was used during the testing. The measurement unit scale preferred is metric (millimetres). As a background testing object a 25l black plastic drum served the purpose quite well:).

I tried to find the right focus point once the dot/spot became tightest/smallest, I cannot guarantee 100% mm precise results, but hopefully the shots turned out good enough to give the basic idea of what the PL-E PRO with BE attached is capable of at shorter distances. I realise the true potential still remains unrevealed, for that I'd have to go out to a much larger area with more accurate distance measurement techniques.

I'll let the pictures do the talking, they should be explanatory enough.

The range to be read in metric units is the one upside down (the above range is pre-set on a larger scale). I should've turn the ruler the other side to avoid confusion, I know:tinfoil:.

Unfortunately couldn't take a pic of Ti B's dot, the battery just went dead and currently have no back-up one in my possession:(.

The growth layer rings around the spot are possibly caused by a temporary dust particles on the BE lens, shouldn't be a regular occurrence with my PL-E PRO. What I've noticed the beam leaving the BE lens is not centred, it actually goes from the upper half section of the lens (if laser with control buttons and battery indicator facing upwards):thinking:.

Is it just me or does the dot on the PL-E without BE look way too big? What is the actual divergence?
 
^Well, according to jetlasers.org data sheet for 532nm PL-E PRO the divergence is up to 2.0mRad, which isn't the greatest, I know:undecided:. I've just realised I should've gone the "+ method" described actually by steve001 in this thread:

Although I haven't measured the beam's diameter at the aperture, assuming I use the calculation mentioned by Cyparagon, the divergence result would be just up to 1.5mRad. As you can see, the spot fits more or less within 45mm (perhaps even 40mm, which would give even better result) at the distance of 30m. Hope this helps.
