A little more info will help you get the best answers.
How much do you have to spend?
What do you want to do with it?
How small does it have to be?
Rechargable batteries or no?

Also there is a Reviews board, as well as a Companies board which prob. already have the answers you're looking for. ;)

Mainly I bought a 1mW blusky stealth laser pointer but yet it keeps on breaking. I want a powerful enough laser that I can star point with or just have fun with but to do that I just want to know what type of mW laser would that type of stuff by going far but not burning. ( 1mW laser cost me £39 ) I saw a 50 mW laser on the same site and i wanted to know if it was worth the money but doesn't burn from far ( 50mW = £99 )

i don't trust bluesky, myself. if you want to do star pointing, i'd suggest you get about a 15-25mW laser, perhaps a nova lasers X-15 or X-25, that'd be about £40-50 and they're great lasers, i have a second hand X-85 and it works wonderfully. for burning things, that's probably 50mW and above, really 80-100mW if you want a good burner. if you do go for nova, make sure you use their 5% discount code for LPF people :) and welcome to LPF!!

you're welcome! there is one thing to consider when ordering from nova - they will put the full value of the laser on the customs form, meaning you may get charged about £10 or so by customs. you can ask nova to lower the value, but then it's only insured for that lower value if it gets lost in the mail.

hmmmmmmm, well its always a try but the downside is that it comes from america! The reason why I bought the laser from bluesky is because they are kinda local ( scotland lol ) so that was the only place that I knew of, but thanks anyway. :)

If you really want value for money I'm afraid you have no choice than to order you laser from an overseas company.

I live in Europe as well (Netherlands) and there are just 2 local websites to order lasers but these are extremely expensive and one of them gives no warranty at all.
The other company (the one who does give warranty) charge $400 for a CNI pen laser with 100mW peak output.  and $240 for 50mW peak.

So.. ordering a >5mW laser  in Europe really isn't an option.

Well anything over $40 you will be charged customes on or $60 if its a gift (dont quote me on that, these are rough figures and to play safe go with $40) but you have to remember that the parcel will only be insured for the value that is decalred.....

A parcel that had a declared value of $75 cost me about £24ish (£10 customs and £14 for Parcel Force handling fee) in charges and about 1 weeks extra to get through customs...

If you want something for pointing then I have to agree with Marianne same for burning too.

I am at work at the moment so cant really check the BlueSky website but i know Andy_con has one of their high power pen units the sfx I think its called and he is very happy with that and his one has adjustable focus.. a review can be found on his site: http://www.laser-man.co.uk/2006/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=43&Itemid=31

Personally I would go with Nova if you want a pen sized green as they provide an output graph of the power and if you pay a bit more you can geta nice case and points towards any further accessories and also there is a 5% discount for forum members if you use the "warp5" discount code. Or you could try Pseudo as he has sometiems got some and has some great deals but it just depends what power you want.
