Re: OMG MY LASER IS BUSTED :(

First, please use a more descriptive thread title.
Second, if it is not covered under the warranty, ask how much they would charge for the repair.

I think that’s your best bet. But, if it is only a problem with the lens, and the lens itself is not damaged, and either they won’t repair it, or it will cost too much to repair, let me know and I’ll see if maybe I can fix it for you.

Again, call and ask.

ok so i e-mailed them and got this respones

Dear David,

Normally a warranty is avoided if a customer take the laser into parts,
since you are talking a lot, but the truth I believe is that you tried to
modify the laser but you failed, and the laser stop working.

Our lasers can not be modified, any attempts will just cause the laser stop
working. It is out of customer's ability to assemble it back to normal.

I don't want you have an unhappy Christmas, so you can send it back to us
for a replacement.

If your future laser fell apart again, we will do nothing to help you.

Returning instructions has been emailed to you in another email.

Merry Christmas

for some reason that makes be very angry, probably because i told them i did not mod it and they think i did, im asking for my money back and am probably going to go to nova or tech and spend it there. if you wont repair my product in the future then why should i buy from you lol

they probably should not have accused you of trying to modify it, but it's nice that they will replace it for you, as dropping lasers and then opening them is NOT covered under any warranty I've ever heard of, from any seller.

I dislike their tone, but play along for the repair.

I see nothing wrong with what they are doing.. Be glad.. Any company would laugh at you if you dropped their product or took it apart and it no longer works.. And I bet asking for your money back might get you nothing. Take the new laser and ebay it.

What company is this?

I agree though: they didn't word it very nicely, but their offer is top notch. If you came to me with the same issue on something you bought from me, I'd be a lot nicer about it but you can bet I'd make you cover the repair costs.

As Dr. Lava said, I can't think of any warranty in the world that covers you for dropping something and breaking it, whether or not you "feel" the lens was on wrong because "it didn't look right". If they had sent back a two word e-mail, "screw you", I think I'd have to side with their opinion even though that's a horrible way to put it. Sorry!

Personally, I'd just glue the lens back on. A similar thing happened to me... my lens cracked, and they told me the most likely cause would be an attempt to modify it... (I didn't, but oh well). But I just decided to fix it myself since the warranty does not cover accidental damage. I wouldn't get angry because it seems like you lucked out. Just take the new laser and don't complain. They probably have just cause for accusing you anyway. There's really no point in arguing. I wish my warranty covered it but I would probably do the same thing if I were them.
