If these people sell 200mw lasers for $120, why do people still buy fusion's for $500?

Simple... QUALITY!... You get what you pay for.
I know I have a 200mw DX Laser, its very temperamental, I knew what I was getting at $120.00.

WHERE did you hear, or read that the DX30 does not have an IR filter ?

From the website

Reported by a number of fellows from our forums, as most China-made green lasers do not come with an IR filter, protective eye wears are required while using this laser. If you are not sure what this means, get the 5mW version which is as safe as regular red lasers

I'll just post some simple facts in case they clear anything up:

- DX lasers, made by NewWish, are mass-produced, low-quality units, and DX does not offer a warranty service. The price is very good, but "you get what you pay for" when it comes to dependability and support.

- The lasers DO have an IR filter.

- On the higher power models, the IR filter is not adequate. IR filter or not, 100mW DX lasers emit market-unacceptable (IMO) levels of IR.

Overall the DX lasers are decent, VERY cheap lasers for a hobbist to play around with. For real scientific/lasershow/etc. applications where dependability is an issue, the DX laser is not acceptable. It is also inaccurate to measure a DX on a silicon sensor power meter unless an effective IR filter is used. Other than that, if you just want a cheap emitter of green laser light, its a deal that can't be beat.
