Hello,
I got a 150mW green laser from dx, but the power switch is broken, how do i open the laser without destroying it?

Lol, I wouldn't know the first thing about opening it, but I do know that DX is known for broken button crap on their pointers, I know cuz of my violet...

First, we need a link to or a picture of the laser. DX doesn't make lasers. They resell them. They also sell different kinds.

Second, how do you know the switch is "broken"? What is it doing? What did it do before it "broke"?

here is what styropyro told me when i had the same question
Take a block of wood, I use a piece of a 2x4. Drill a 1/2 inch hole in the block, and then cut the block in half at the hole so that you have a clamp. Put the silver top of the pen into the clamp, and then put the clamp into a vise. Then start twisting and wiggling until the modules come out. This may take some time if you are being careful. Hope this helps!

The above instructions will work. I just use a thick piece of leather in my vice to hold the end.

The end is "pressed" in NOT screwed. However, a small "rocking" motion helps. The module is screwed into the end cap. You can unscrew it if you need to AFTER it is out of the host.

All that being said -- Why do you think the button is "broken"? There are a couple of things that can go wrong besides the button being broken.

What is it "doing"?
What did it do before it "broke"?
Did anything change more gradually before it "broke"?

Its bad contact and the laser gets stronger and weaker when we push the button with different strenght.
Thats why its broken ( my dad have worked with Pioneer car radios and fixing theme so we know its the button )

This is why I don't buy pen style lasers. My first ever green laser was a newwish one like this, and it didn't hold a steady output, and pushing the button a certain way would make the laser output differently.

I prefer flashlight style hosts.

Well, I have sold like 15 of those lasers, and got 5 more ordered so 1 of 15 that is a little broken isnt that bad, and I can just put on a new power button and keep the laser myselfe.

Your driver board has simply flexed down and is moving. Remove the foam ring around the spring and push a piece of rubber or plastic (of the appropriate height) under the driver board to support it. Be careful not to break any components on the bottom of the board. If the spacer is too tall/thick, the button will be constantly depressed. Remove it and make it thinner.
