How to identify 30mW from 5mW Green laser ?

The true are suposed to have a better didoe, I haven't heard of many diference between the true 100 and the normal 100 but many between the true 50 and the normal 50, and especially the true 30. It's suposed to be their best unit, i repeat for the price you won't get disapointed.

well, some greens use better quality, newwish diodes, so they are called true green lasers. Also, its hard to tell. alot of the output from cheap greenies that are not ir filtered is itself IR light. and you cant see ir light. if your trying to tell by the picture on whatever site your looking at, its most likely that they will show the same picture for both the true and normal 50mw green lasers. for the cheap price you get them for, your still getting a bargain, even if it turns out that the laser only outputs like 25mws.

There really is no way to tell them apart, even if you hold them in your hand - unless you turn them on that is. All of these lasers use the same cases. There are slight differences between series of cases produced, but those are not related to what's inside at all.

Also, a burning performance test is likely to be of little use. Things like cutting tape, popping balloons or lighting matches are all very dependent on power -density-, not just power. This means that, for example, lighting a match with a thick 200 mW beam is more difficult than with a thin 100 mW beam.

You need a power meter to tell for certain, or a laser of know power for visual comparison.. though the latter is by no means accurate beyond 'that one is brighter'.
