how to fix 200mw green laser from dinodirect

i few weeks ago my laser broke out of nowhere i as playing with it when the laser stopped working. dont kno wat happened. i was stupid enough to have looked in to the laser and i saw a very dim red light.

what could have happened? how do i fix it??

I presume English is not your native language but I think the crystals became loose and no longer lase. You should not look into a "dead" DPSS laser -- it isn't always fully dead and you can easily damage an eye with that dim red light.
That said, I would ask for warranty from dino. If you didn't open it, adjust it or drop it, there should be warranty.

i doubt the laser is still under a warranty because i bought this 3/29/10

1. Sue all your English teachers in your school system.

2. Try warming the laser to body temperature if you are in a cool area. Yours may be temperature sensitive in the crystal stack.

I have a question regarding your situation... Is there a rattling sound in the front of your pointer? Sounds like something is loose in there?

Also, if you point directly downward, give a little shake, does the situation change?

Help on fixing 200mw green laser from DHGate

Hi All, I purchased a 200 mw green laser from DHGate. About 5 months after purchasing, it just quit working. It doesn't turn or anything. At first I thought it might just be the battery (Ultrafire 18650), but I switched out with a new battery and that didn't make a difference. In my limited lay person's opinion, there's either something wrong with the switch or the diode. Of course, this are just "uneducated guesses". Any help from a professional would be much appreciated.

P.S.- I contacted DHGate seller a few days after 6 months post purchase and he said there was only a 6 month warranty and he refused to honor 6 month warranty because at the time I had contacted him it was a few days beyond 6 months even though laser had quit working a few weeks prior.:thanks:

Hello BigWaveDave. Can you post a picture of your laser? Depending of the host that it uses, we can tell how to disassemble it.

That can be a lot of things, for example, loosen battery spring, the switch that broken (very common in chinese lasers), the 808nm pump diode that died (can be due to heat, or factory overdrive), a bad contact into the driver (like a bad solder), the driver that died, or even, the crystals (Nd:YAG:KTP).
