How do you pot mod a green laser?

to be exact, i just recently bought a true 30mw laser from DX and its coming in about a week.

how exactly would i take apart those lasers and has anyone every tried to pot mod them

exaclty how much mw can i get them up to

Might as well tell you straight, to get into that laser you will need to slice it to bits. Which will ruin the body, and then by pot modding it you will break the actual laser.

How do you solve this ?

You shell out the cash and buy a more powerful laser if you want one ;)

ok thanks, not pot moding it >_<, i'm kinda short on money and i'm not gonna spend 100s of dollars on a laser. What is it... I just saw on youtube, some people pot modded like a 30mw laser and crap and you can see this super duper clear beam. Exactly what is a focus lens, i saw some people use it to light matches and stuff. Would a magnify glass work too?

Mag glass does the same thing as a focus lens, they are the same thing, they just make the beam converge to a small point. Kind of like when you burn things with the sun and a mag glass, you want a really small point.

The videos on youtube are either fakes or the lasers broke a few minutes later ::)

lolol alright bro, so could you possibly focus a 30mw to light a match =], like at least have some heat to it

If you are talking about this video, then it is a fake. The poster just used fog to bring out the beam.

You could pot mod an Ebay laser to instantly light matches, but it might only last a few weeks minutes.

pot moding is bad. i got a 100mw newwish laser from ebay, for 120 usd. the laser is pot modable, but it can hit the clouds just fine, and i can see the beam. i have a dumb friend that did mod his 70mw laser. he paid 50 dollars for it, then by pot moding it, he broke it. his was not a newwish, and did not have an ir filter, so when his stopped working, he was blasting everyoe with IR... BAD. so basically, if you do pot mod, good luck, and make sure that you do have an IR filter...

so basically, if i were you, get a 100mw NewWish laser, off of ebay, for a little over 100 dollars.

i do realize that mine did not cost that much, and that the beam is not "perfect" but thats okay, because im 16 years old, and its my first "real" laser

one last thing, sorry, please see SAW V.
