How's it going? Cool forum. Just wanted to share some comments and get your thoughts. Thanks in advance for your help.

A few years back got my first green laser from some generic website. I'm certain it was under 5mW. Not bright in the day, but was a lot of fun in clubs. About a year later, I saw a guy with another green laser, although this was much stronger and produced a much brighter beam and I was like "dang, I've got to get that".

Fast forward a few years. My old green laser just stopped working one day and I decided to go online to wickedlasers and see what's out there now . They had a 5mW laser for $57, but they also had a 15mW for $97. I was debating between the two for a few days and I went back online after getting a link from them and it connected me to another screen (still wickedlaser..I'm certain of it) and it seems they had another model, the classic which was 20mW but still the same price ($97) plus a 10% discount. I jumped at it (and from the UPS email I received, it should be arriving today)! I'm pretty psyched.

Just a few questions if any of you guys have insights to this...

1. Wow, I guess I should have read this site's "Guide to buying green lasers" sooner. In the thread, the author lists wickedlasers as one of the worst, saying they are plain scam artists. Yikes. What's strange is this site has a huge advertisement from them right on top of this forum. Was I scammed?
2. Any reason why this "classic 20mW executive series" is the same price as their "classic 15mW"? The person assured me it would be brand new and was not an old or refurbished model.
3. I noticed on Amazon there have a supposedly 20mW green laser pointer for $69 from BPG industries with free shipping??? I decided to stick with WickedLaser as I heard they were pretty reliable (well, see note 1. above)
4. If this is greater than 5mW, how is it getting shipped to the US? In reading the "guide to buying green lasers", it says that these shipments are stopped (although this laser does have a safety latch on it etc.).

Thanks again, folks.

1) WL have changed their image over the last couple of months, sending out review units where many of them performed very well. It seems they are trying to change their image. Some people still doubt their honesty, and many people think they are overpriced, despite nice designs.
Personally I think they sell some good lasers now, but at higher prices than I am willing to pay purely for design.

2) They probably lowered their prices on earlier models when they released their new range of lasers.

3) I have not heard about BPG industries, and never buy lasers on amazon or FeeBay. There are however companies such as Optotronics, O-like and Rayfoss that I would buy from rather than WL.

4) WL have told a couple of people, including me, that they will make sure the lasers get through customs. They also claim they are FDA approved.

Guys:
Thanks for the welcome and the replies. I just got a notice from UPS that the package arrived this afternoon (wow, only two days from China), so I'll send a quick update tomorrow

Hey what's up. I just got my laser I purchased from wicked lasers too.

I purchased a 100mw executive pro from them during Chinese newyear.

I love it alot. I do live in the us and it came through customs fine.

I would say you should have looked round a bit as some other people said rayfoss and other companys have good models.

If I had known that before buying my laser I would have not bought it.

Uum I would like to know how you like your new 20 mq laser as I had bought a 5mw wicked lasers had and my other laser I had bought from lasergreen a few years back was 2x brighter. It might be a higher mw as it's half as bright as my 100mw.

Uum I would say wicked lasers has done some things to improve they are just really pricey.

Let me know how you like your new laser I would love to know.

Thanks,
Jeff

I think the only bad thing about WL are their prices, I barely got a photonic disruptop pro green laser 100mw, I love it, the design is awesome, its waterproof and it has continious duty cycle, I have no way to measure it but I can burn dark colored stuff it seems to be truly 100mw
