How's it going? Cool forum. Just wanted to share some comments and get your thoughts. Thanks in advance for your help.
A few years back got my first green laser from some generic website. I'm certain it was under 5mW. Not bright in the day, but was a lot of fun in clubs. About a year later, I saw a guy with another green laser, although this was much stronger and produced a much brighter beam and I was like "dang, I've got to get that".
Fast forward a few years. My old green laser just stopped working one day and I decided to go online to wickedlasers and see what's out there now . They had a 5mW laser for $57, but they also had a 15mW for $97. I was debating between the two for a few days and I went back online after getting a link from them and it connected me to another screen (still wickedlaser..I'm certain of it) and it seems they had another model, the classic which was 20mW but still the same price ($97) plus a 10% discount. I jumped at it (and from the UPS email I received, it should be arriving today)! I'm pretty psyched.
Just a few questions if any of you guys have insights to this...
1. Wow, I guess I should have read this site's "Guide to buying green lasers" sooner. In the thread, the author lists wickedlasers as one of the worst, saying they are plain scam artists. Yikes. What's strange is this site has a huge advertisement from them right on top of this forum. Was I scammed?
2. Any reason why this "classic 20mW executive series" is the same price as their "classic 15mW"? The person assured me it would be brand new and was not an old or refurbished model.
3. I noticed on Amazon there have a supposedly 20mW green laser pointer for $69 from BPG industries with free shipping??? I decided to stick with WickedLaser as I heard they were pretty reliable (well, see note 1. above)
4. If this is greater than 5mW, how is it getting shipped to the US? In reading the "guide to buying green lasers", it says that these shipments are stopped (although this laser does have a safety latch on it etc.).
Thanks again, folks.
