Hi I was wondering if someone here can help me find a good, safe laser pointer. Green <5mW with a filter. My primary use is to point out items for my service dog to retrieve for me.

We currently use a red iHome laser but it's often not bright enough in daylight and I was told a green laser would be better.
Looking around online I've looked for green lasers less than 5mW and have IR filters and came up with laserglow for $40 and z-bolt for $48. Am I stuck in that price range or is it reasonable that I might find something cheaper?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Tas,

Im guessing the $40 LaserGlow pointer you are looking at is the Anser, correct? If so, I can tell you you won't be disappointed. I own one myself and love every bit of it :)

Also, LaserGlow is one of the few companies which sell TRUE <5mW pointers w/ IR Filters and yes, $40 is a really good price for a laser which will last you for years to come and will prove to be very reliable!

Do dogs see green better than red like we do? I thought dogs were basically color blind. Correct me if I'm wrong

Dogs aren't colorblind. They see colors but they see less colors than we do. Reds look like browns to them, greens look yellow and they see blues pretty much just like we do.
