Hey again guys, I want a new laser with a bit more power and brightness, the thing is I know nothing about lasers, I'm in UK so I need UK £ prices if anyone has links/sites. I've found a couple on ebay if anyone can tell me if they are cheap, but please recomend me a GREAT but cheap laser that is powerful and will last long.

How come it's not as visible, but wow it's a great price for a 200mw. It would be good if it was visible in day/night.

Does anyone have this laser? I might get it, also can i buy it with £'s to UK? Does anyone have any pics, vids of this, test or something of this exact laser? Also, is this a great laser to buy with a long life span?

Thanks

Loads of people have it, its a really great laser, though you'll be wanting to get eye protection I recommend goggles from www.wickedlasers.com

Its not as visible as green because its red, and our eyes aren't as sensitive to red as they are to green.

It should last a good while, as long as you watch the duty cycle.

duty cycle? :S

What would be a slightly less powerful laser pointer but will still be visible in light but not cause as much damage, I think a 200mw is a bit too much for a first user + I'm 16 at the moment.

You could get a 30mW green
that would be pretty visible , I know mines is, and its a good bit safer.

Duty cycle: the amount of time you should run your laser before turning it off to let it cool down . Running them too long can cause damage.

You could also get an X75 from www.novalasers.com it'll be very bright, and you'll still be needing safety goggles for it, but it wont do as much damage.

Edit : X75 is a green.

I just bought a DX Romisen L-D030 from a member on this forum.

The button is very loose but can easily be fixed by putting more padding under the driver, if you end up buying this laser and need any help with this pm me  :)

Here are some pics of the laser next to my CNI 150:

There are also some beam shots here:

If you want any other photos just ask  :)
Hope this helps

Romisens are great lasers, I own two, used to be three, but the other one I pot modded and put in a giant geatsink, and I'm getting about 60mW out of it, but without the huge heatsink and a lower operating voltage it just mode hops ::)

Wow, nice pics randomer, on that thread the Romisen doesn't look as powerful, the beam isn't as bright. Also, on that thread Randomer are those lasers modded, are they 30mW? Can that Romisen also be modded?

Another question, if I bought this one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.469 is it cheap? Could it be modded? Overall, which is better the DX 30mW or Romisen 30mW like in the pics above

Thanks for all the help guys I apreciate this.

None of the lasers I have are modified.

The CNI is brighter buts thats pretty obvious considering its about 160mw where as the Romisen is sold to be around 30mw but I haven't got a lpm to check this.

I have no idea about modding so i'l leave Diachi to answer that question

Oh kkz, thanks for the info man.

I think I'll go for the DX 30mW, but I want to get it cheap and mod it, how pwoerful mW would it be modded? Or should I just get the 50mW from DX?
