The Romisens seem pretty reliable, mines has never let me down, well until I modded it :p

Diachi, what could I mod a 30mW CNI DX laser to? Or should i just get a 50mW

Is a romisen 30mW brighter and powerful than the CNI 30mW?

I would recommend the L-C030. It is a very great laser, it has a 'real' switch opposed a momentary switch, it is very well heatsinked, wich means you can leave it on for longer periods of time,
very easy modable(although I won´t recommend that...),has a great and sturdy feel and a serious wow effect if it is you first green laser and leaves much room for future power increases(I mean buying a stronger laser ;)). And 30mW is not _that_ dangerous.

I remember someone on this forum who wanted to go for an rpl 475 as a first laser      .
Of course, he would have enough power, but were´s the fun in that? But that does not mean that I wouln´t get one if I had the money ;)

*edit* You can never really say which laser will be brighter, as they are both DPSS lasers... Output depends on temerature, crystal quality, etc... It depends on what you want. If you want a roboust, good for beginers and pretty cheap laser that is pretty close to its rated value, get the Romisen. If you want the CNI from NOVA, you will get a very good laser that averages above the stated value along with warranty and a very slick host. Ahh it is hard to understand what I mean :-?

Thanks for the explanation ArRay, much apreciated. You've put me in a big dilema whether to get the CNI or Romisen haha. Do the CNI's and Romisens come in 50mW I might go for a 50mW now.

I agree completely with that, I have an L-C030 sitting on my desk right now, and its great, I also have the case for one with the heat sink drilled ready for an aixiz, but thats the one I killed when pot modding it and now needs to be run at a lower voltage so it doesn't mode hop.

It's a GREAT laser .

As far as I know, the Romisens only come in 30mW. There is a variety of hosts to choose between, though.
I would go with a romisen first, preferably the C030, and if you like green lasers then, I would get a higher powered X50-150, depends on your preferance, budget and if you can justify spending so much money on a shiney light ;)

Can you give me some links for any cheap romisens, and you guys would recomend this over a CNI? I did want something a little more powerful say a 50mW but romisens are only 30mW, would it burn anything? Could it be modded from 30mW to a higher mW?

Sure. Here ya go:

Beware, some of them may look silly.

Perhaps it could, but I would not recommend that. You are risking to destroy/damage your laser.

Of you want to burn something, you need higher powers anyway... For that purpose it is the best to build a DIY red burner, or get the DX 'Dilda' red 200 mW. Burning green lasers are very expecive, or tend to not having a long life... Or, when buying from ebay or DX, are a gamble.

For good green burners, go with Novalasers, Optotronics, Or Dragonlasers. You could get one from DX, but as I said, it mostly is a gamble.

Thanks for the links and help! I'll leave trying to mod it then, the romisens 30mW look like cool lasers but I need something with more umph! I might go for a CNI 50mW.

What do you guys think of that compared to Romisen 30mW? It is more brighter + powerful

The DX 50mW is powerful than that Romisen though isn't it? I saw how bright the Romisen was and thought the CNI 50mW would be even better.

All this time I was being a total laser nub, thinking that CNI was the make of those long laser pointers, lol it's a company.

But anyway, Thanks for the link also!
