HELP!

when i turn my DX 5mW greenie on the dotjust seems to get weaker and weaker

Also when i stare in (i know its stupid) i can see red

does anyone anyone have a solution btw i live in bristol uk where the temp is about -3 to 4 degrees

DONT STARE INTO IT! your probably seeing IR light and damging your eyes...

It may be the cold, which does not allow the crystals to change ir into green. Maybe try new batteries?

instead of tryin the battery mod would it work if i put 3 aaa's in?

also i dropped my laser bout 1/2 and our ago and the dot gets weaker quicker :'( :'(

does any1 have a solution instead of returnin it 2 dx ??  [smiley=sad.gif] [smiley=sad.gif]

Green lasers can be very sensitive to physical shock, especially these cheap ones. I had one that eventually quit producing green at all, but still had the faint red glow of 808nM IR -

3 AAA may not really be the best solution here, either, as it sounds like the laser has other problems, like crystal alignment.

Most importantly, I hope you didn't get your eye too close to the laser when you looked into it, the farther away the more likely you are okay. You probably just got scattered IR of a few mW. DON'T EVER DO THAT WITH ANY LASER!! If the crystal were to fall completely out of the way, the IR diode can potentially output up to 200mW or more! :-?

i looked at the IR point blank range but no pain in my eye

Does any1 have a solution on how to fix the laser Or re align the crystals?

i think i have found a solution though. if i leave it in the cold it takes more timefor the dot to get weaker and if iheat the laser by body temp the dot gets weaker is half a sec.

Kage should i get pics and show a video and stuff?

cold will affect this laser. also, the crystal alignment could be screwed up. the laser may just be outputting almost invisible IR light. dont be an idiot and look into the laser!!!! you might try lightly tapping it, its crude, but hey sometimes it works!!! also, remember, its cheap, and you get what you paid for
