i have a dx 20mw laser and have noticed the output has got very very dull with about five little spots. i have been using rechargeable batteries and have not modded it in any way. i also gave it some warm up time but it still doesn't get brighter? so what do you think has happened to it?

Has it been dropped at all ? Does the brightness increase when you push the button a certain way ? Post some pics of it, and the dot(s) if possible....

i did check the lens for dust and there was nothing. i did drop it once (not very hard) but it did work for a while after that. and finally no it doesn't change when it push the button harder or softer. Oh, and i use NiMH batteries. When i turn it on its really faint and it stays like that no matter what i do?

Well the order says its ready to be shipped :). I was bored tonight, so i looked up the laser regulations for here in australia and it said "The regulations prohibit the
import, manufacture, sale,
possession and use of laser
pointers with a laser beam
emission limit greater than one
milliwatt
" That's stupid, i mean what are you going to do with one milliwatt of laser. That really annoys me

I live in victoria, but i got my 20mw one allright so i guess there will be no prob with the 30.
I was surprised when my 20mw arrived because on the box it said "pen light". That really scared me

Well when my 20 broke there was one thing i thought about.
The 3 laws of science.
1.If it smells bad, it's chemistry.
2.If it's squishy, it's biology.
3. If it doesn't work, it's physics.
Sounds about right for this laser ;D ;D ;D

Hi, whereabouts did you find that info?

I've been looking at bringing some into the country and selling the spares off to fund my own.
I rang customs and they told me they had no restrictions unless it didn't comply with aust standard, and i rang the standards people and was told as long as it complied it was fine, guy i spoke to wasn't specific but he said the aust standard differed from the international standard due to the wavelengths allowed.

great forum btw, just found it 2nite.

Obzelite - welcome to the forum ! I think you will find that anything that does not meet the 1mw or below standards, unless it has every safety precaution known to mankind on it will be illegal to import...

perth.

i emailed the dragon laser guy and asked if he had any problems, sending to Australia and he said none had been stopped.
figured if i buy from him thru ebay and use paypal at least I'm covered if they do get stopped.

Dragon lasers and NOVA lasers have a customs guarrantee - so you would be covered anyways, I am sure....
