So I have been shopping around for the last 2 weeks and can't seem to make a decision for myself, I feel like the best way to aide my decision is to get some of your guys opinions who already own lasers from these various companies (Dragonlasers, Techlasers, Novalasers, etc...) Basically it's come down to a few that I have my eyes on, and my max price is about $225 USD and they are: Techlasers Infiniti Series 95mW - NovaLasers X-Series 100mW - Dragonlasers Viper Series 75 or 95mW.  My first choice was the Dragonlasers as they seem very professional and from the sounds of it, have a slightly higher standard of quality, and are very confident with their products, but I may be wrong and would like advice. And I would probably choose the Techlasers over Nova because of the pricing but I would like to know about the quality of these products because I don't want mine malfuncitoning after a couple months because it was made with poor materials and components.  I'm also picky about the quality of the beam, I would prefer a lower beam divergence as I use it for long distance pointing as well as burning here and there. Thanks for reading and please give me your 2 cents, even if you dont think it means much it does to me.   P.S. I'm gonna get a check from the government for $600 in a month and was also wondering if anyone owns a 3-10mW Blue laser, I'm obsessed with them and am wondering if I should fork out the money for one or wait for prices to drop???  Please help!

Go with Nova by all means, nearly everybody on here will tell you the same. Here's why:

DragonLasers has been proven to send out lasers that aren't up to spec, in the test a member on here did one of the lasers was 20mW lower that what it was advertised as.

There have been some horror stories with TechLasers, including them sending out busted lasers, and when the customers emailed them for a replacement, they didn't even reply. Stay away from them.

Nova, on the other hand, is known to send out great lasers that put out more than they were advertised as. When I ordered from them, they even sent me a free diffraction grating too.

When you talk about specs, all of the lasers here are manufactured by the same company, and are basically the same thing. What it comes down to is how the reselling company tests its lasers. An Infiniti 125 from TechLasers or a Viper 125 from DragonLasers may only qualify as an X100 from Nova.

100mW will be fine for burning, you will be able to shred matches and balloons with it, the brightness will be unbelievable so make sure you get goggles.

About blue lasers, they are going to stay the same price for a while until they make true blue laser diodes. You can build a violet laser for $50 though, and the dot turns blue on half the things you point it at.

May I add that the word around here is that CNI pens(like the ones described above) don't have the best divergence on earth(some members tested at 1.6mRad), but they're ok, and don't worry, you will be able to point stuff at a very long distance outside. ;)
And really spend the extra money to get goggles. There's a lot of stuff you can't do without goggles, not to mention you'll be safer.

Everyone will tell you not to buy from Dragonlasers, but I've never had a problem with them. Quite the opposite, actually, they've been really good to me from the beginning.
