I wasn't trying to spam, just get feedback from people more knowledgeable than myself. It seemed a little suspect . . .

"If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is."

Just looking at the packaging though should be enough to show it's wrong. Your not going to get 5W of DPSS green in a small form factor hand held.

I don't have enough experence to know yet what kind of power levels I should expect out of the different sized hosts. I've read people are thinking the Spyder III (is that a swear word yet?) will be around 800mw & its larger. My experence with lasers is largly restricted to industrial CO2 cutting lasers & small pointers.

The arctic is also a straight diode laser. the 532's are DPSS. Meaning they have an IR pump diode and frequency doubler crystals. And when done properly, which 5W would certainly require, also involve temperature stabilization with TEC's, etc. It's just way too much stuff to physically cram into that size to get that power output. Your honestly never going to see more than ~250mw or so of green from that size host, and even that is severely pushing it and would be highly temperature dependent.. like all greens with no way of temperature stabilization.

The strongest portable green I know of is the hercules laserglow sells. 850mw but it's FREAKING HUGE heh. On both size, and pricetag, at $12,389, according to their website.

Yep. And the Hercules is what.. 1.2w? And has a freaking built in *fan* and thermal controls? And they expect to get 5w out of what is essentially o-Like's "cute" formfactor?

Are you referring to pump power or green output?
IIRC pump diode is rated at 2.5W, run conservatively.

DHgate must be destroyed! Exterminate. Exterminate. Exterminate.
