Has anyone ordered anything from focalprice in the US? What would be the best green pointer to get from them for the price?

When you receive it, see if you can remove the plastic lens locking material shown on the left side of this photo:

Then adjust the lens with some smoke in the beam.

If you can focus the beam to a point at a couple of inches, then it should be more capable of burning than factory stock.

Alright I finally got mine today, it's really cool, however I don't have a power meter to confirm the 50mw. So to get the focusing knob off, did you just turn it firmly till it comes off, or did you have to remove that lens locking material to get the knob off?

Hey Larry, mine from focal price seems to flutter a lot, and the beam seems to be at a downward angle.

The top focus ring just unscrews from the rest of the laser.

Mine must be different, because this sucker won't come off. I just tried it outside, it is very cool. I can't even imagine how great a 150 - 200 mw would be.

Yagoo cn has a focusable 400mw module. Can you imagine that with larrys lens? Are you going to be selling these?

Hey Larry, do you think your lens will still help this laser burn even if I can't get the focusing ring off? This thing doesn't come off, even with pliers I couldn't get it off, and I don't want to break it.

Oh and larry I talked to frank from Viasho about these lenses. He seemed interested but though it wouldn't work. I'm sure if they designed lenses just for RPL's from viasho/optotronics coated for 532nm it'd be killer

The added lens will still work with your laser.

I set mine up so I could take off the additional lens.

I would try some gentle heat (200° F) on the head.

P.S. -themandalorian;

I have not looked at the lenses in those green lasers.

Most commercial lasers can benefit with better optics.

Finally disassembled the 50mw laser for some power and lens testing.
What do you think of my module puller ?
50mwgreen.jpg

Reset the driver @ 400ma. Voltage was 1.985 VDC at the diode.
Power Input = 794mw for the 808nm diode.
(From a data sheet for Sanyo 200mw 808nm diode - efficiency of 200/460 or 43.5% )
IR Power Output = 794 x 43.5% = 345mw @ 808nm
Power Output = 47mw @ 532nm
Efficiency = 13.6% of IR Power In

Next I tried the Hi-Power Lens Assembly on the 47mw Green.
Focus was set at ~ 1/2 inch.
It immediately burned holes thru the white newspaper.

It was considerably faster than the exterior lens I started with on the 1st post.

Yes, If those threads are 9mm x 0.5mm.

Thanks for the photo of the lens.

LarryDFW

I stole it from another thread. I do not have mine yet. Perhaps someone here that has a o-like and a thread gauge can check it for us.
