Hello everyone 6 hours ago i pointed by mistake the laser on my eye for less then 1 sec (not any damage at all)
After I Stare at the laser dot very closely (Trying to burn a match) about a half meter
for a 1minute + (with blinking)i see its to much for my eye So i take a half broken glasses and I looked Through it for 25 seconds or less
I am not sure if the laser go back to the glass (like a mirror effect )
after that I start to see purple dot, red dot, then after 5 minutes I started to see noraml again And it was completely gone.
Now when I playing,READING When i looking at the pc screen every time I look at the wall (after playing the computer) I see like when u look at the sun for 2 Seconds but
the vision I see is like if u look at the sun you will get the black/white sun effect
u most likely recovery from the sun effect after 5-4 seconds
to me after looking at the computer screen it's like 93% u have recovered from the sun effect (I still can see normal)
do it will repair its self or it can get worse?
I only have the sun effect after looking at the computer screen

Laser Stats :Green max output 10mW 532nm Class lll
Thanks!

Be honest with us; are you understating your problem or is it really only as bad as it sounds? You may well have got off lightly and will see a full recovery soon, but if you have doubts or are actually struggling to see with parts of your eye you should seek help quickly.

It sounds like you've done a small amount of damage. The dot can actually kill tiny areas of pixels in cameras if used long enough so I think it's your call now to seek help before any chance of repair is lost.

I hear you can get treatments which help stop swelling of the eye which is possible when it's damaged like this. In the long term your brain will either map out the bad area of your eye or the eye may heal.

I used to stare at the sun for minutes on end when I was a child, to the point where I could see its disk and everything else around it went dark. Miracle I didn't do any lasting visible damage, and it sounds like you got off relatively lucky too. If you get treatment now you'll most likely be ok, next time be more careful.

If there was no direct exposure, you probably made some minor damage. You should see some help for expert opinion. You should never look at the beam. 10mw is pretty powerful to damage your eyes. Buy some protection glasses if you are in to lasers. Hope you regain your vision soon :)

Yikes. If it's cheap green laser, it DOESN'T sound good... Infrared pump laser light is EXTREMELY BRIGHT even though you cannot see it (I can actually see it, more of dark cherry red - I would never recommend look into IR laser if the green laser crystal gets knocked off). Infrared = heat, so it's possible you have fried few retinal "pixel" cones in your eye either from direct hit or reflection, so see your eye doctor.

And, more of a FYI, broken beer bottle piece (brown Iron oxide-containing glass) doesn't even block laser light at all; it acts like infrared light filter, blocking green light, allowing infrared to pass through, so it's easy to fry your eyes this way.
