Hi folks,

I ordered 8x the 50mW focal price green laser on 18650 battery and in two of these lasers when I hit the button:
it flashes green laserlight for a fraction of a second and after that it emits a very dim red light (IR beam)

Anybody got an explanation of what is happening inside the module? Cause I dont understand why it works the first second but then switches to IR..

Thanx!

well, once i had same experience with my DX pen

each time i pushed the button there was just a flash of green..

i opened my pen up and turn the pot..
now this laser is my most powerful green i have ever had...

try to open it up and you should turn the pot anti-clockwise...
try it.. there is nothing to lose..

maybe you will get same result as me..

fingers crossed

Most likely the crystals in that laser are out of alignment. There is no good fix, except to send it back for replacement..

I have a DX 200 which started that trick. I had to pot mod down to get it to stay on :-(

Ideas;

I had one doing the same thing.

You need to check the current at turn-on with #18650 batteries.
Check with battery cap off.

If it goes above 350ma, then the driver is not working properly.

The pot may adjust it down if the driver is still working.

If not, then it needs a new driver.

P.S. Temperature also seems to be a factor. Warm = better operation
