Hey all,

I bought a 300mw laser last year and am very impressed with it's performance. I'm about to purchase a second and third laser but had a few questions

I'm wondering how much of a difference I could expect in visability and beam diameter between my 300mw laser and say a 1200mw model.

Also, what could bee expected from a yellow one. is the entire beam visable like the green ones? I also notice their power reting is much less
than green ones. what would a 20mw yellow be compared to in green power wise?

Thanks all,

djn

For apparent brightness, follow this simple empirical rule: for a 2x increase in brightness, you need a 4x increase in power.

As for your question about yellows, they are farther away from the peak apparent brightness spectrum than 532, so a 20mW yellow will probably have only a very faintly visible beam in pitch black (if you look at it from an antiparallel angle). You'll probably need some smoke/long-exposure to get good beamshots.
