Hey guys, I'm seriously considering buying a green laser, my funds are kind of tight right now, but I want a green laser with at least 95 mW that sits below 200 USD. It's the quality that count, also if you find a red laser that meets those specs please mention it. I just want something for burning and just generally impressing friends. I will be getitng more lasers in the future for other purposes. This one however is for burning stuff xD specifically matches.

Does it have an IR filter?
No, it doesn't have a filter because it doesn't need one. It just a diode laser so no IR is emitted. At 200mW you will need goggles for this laser because staring at the dot of this thing will damage your eyes over time.

Ah ok, as in staring at the dot when it's shone accross the room?
The most danger comes from staring at whatever you are burning from close up, but a 200mW dot on the wall still won't be good for your eyes. Goggles will completely protect your eyes from a DX 200 Red.

Also it seems I can't buy it because I'm in the US. I'll also make sure to snag some goggles as well.

You can't buy any laser over 5mW in the US... DX will sell to you anyways though.

Just ignore that warning, you'll get your laser just fine. If you want laser goggles you can get some cheaper and higher quality laser goggles from http://shop.stonetek.org .

But it won't get to me correct?

I'm pretty sure some places are licensed to do so however. Could one of you please tell me which companies are licensed to do so?

It will get to you. I'm in the US and it got to me just fine. Companies like Wicked Lasers, Nova Lasers, and many other International companies export most of their lasers into the US illegally if you get technical, but you don't have to worry about it because they almost never check packages and take lasers.

O, hmm I want a good quality greenie. Nova looks good but expensive and DX looks shoddy as hell but why not lol.

Hello DrzKing, welcome to LPF.
As with anything, you have many options that greatly affect the price.
You need to consider a few things, here's some examples:

Price range - will immediately narrow down your options.
Color - depending on your price range, you have a few wavelength options, like red, blue-ray (which if violet), green, (or maybe royal blue if your able to spend quite a bit more, but are lesser power)
Size - do you want a portable pointer (as it seems you do) or a sort of beast?
Power - do you want to use it as a pointer, or do you want to burn, light, pop or melt?
Customer service - do you want security that your money's not going down the toilet, or do not care if your product is underspec or malfunctions and you get the bum's rush?

DX seems to be the place to get high-powered green and red lasers for the best price (they now have royal blue (473nm DPSS) but are lower power and really expensive). Don't worry about the shipping from DX, because it will arrive here in the US, only expect it to take around a month, or even longer, what do you expect for $0.01 <-that's how much DX charges for shipping world wide.

But, I'd suggest you wait it out a little (depending on your income) but you could get a laser from Nova if you wait a couple weeks to save up some extra cash and get your much better quality laser with certified power output delivered at the same time if you ordered one from DX now.

Just don't skip out on the safety glasses, and be safe! ;)

I want to thank all of you guys for being so helpful.

Here is what I was thinking:

Green or red

at least 75 mW

Burning capabilities

If green IR filter.

Not too shoddy.

I'd be cool if I could buy one from someone on the website, DiY built used or new as long as it works and has at least another year or two on it.
