Hey guys, I've been looking to get my first real laser pointer(not including the tons of >5mW reds I had when I was a kid). I've been lurking these forums for a few days now and I have to admit, I'm very impressed by how helpful and friendly (mostly) everyone is!

I've decided to get a 50mW adjustable, since it can do pretty much all the functions I want it to (day/night beams, street lights, balloons, possibly matches) and I'm almost sure I found the model I want also thanks to siqueirah's review. --> http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/d...ble-new-pics-divergence-51631.html#post714752 <--

Unfortunately, he got this from DX which I'm understanding can't be shipped to me because I live in the U.S. Luckily, I believe I found the same exact laser on two different sites, though they're $10+ more expensive (if you can find the same laser for less that WILL ship to the U.S., help me out!).

--> 50mW transformable green laser/adjustable/burning [OLV50] - $41.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products <--

--> 50mW 532nm Adjustable Green Laser Pointer (Black) <--

First question: These are the exact same lasers as siqueirah's, correct? (Just to make sure.) Here's someone who bought the laser from O-Like --> http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/my-new-o-like-50mw-laser-51603.html <--

Next, I've read that O-Like is a very good company to order from, and it says "1pcs CR123A battery included .
If you need charger ,pls go to accessories catalogue to buy charger .Thanks"

So, does this mean the CR123A battery is rechargeable and I won't need to buy rechargeable batteries for it? And I'm guessing it if is, this will work? --> CR123A battery Charger [OLCH] - $5.00 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products <--

Also, this laser can take both CR123As and 18650 Lithium batteries. I was wondering which is better, and what are their advantages and disadvantages (I'm definitely leaning towards the CR123As since they make the laser shorter since it has a piece that comes off of it, and if the 18650s aren't much better, I'll definitely go with them).

Sorry for all the questions and text, I just want my first laser experience to be good! :angel: And again, if you can find the same laser for less, please link it!

Edit: Oh, also wondering how long it takes O-Like to ship their products (NJ, USA here). And if it's anyhow possible to get the laser of of DX.

I'd go with O-like. Susie's products are what she claims.
That charger would work, and 18650's last longer than CR123A's, they hold more power.

Also, get goggles!

Im in Aus. i bought the 50mw torch from DX, customs took it. I then order a 10mw module and fitted it to an LED host i had lying around. Next im gonna get a 150mw and do the same.

If you buy a module and fit it to a host yourself you will not regret it. There's more pride in having built something yourself (well at least this is how i felt).

A lot of the modules I've seen sold are pretty pricey, I recomend what I did for price and ease only

It's kinda cheating but it does work, though I suspect a bought DPSS module would outperform it in a second, still, might be worth a thought!

If I really enjoy this laser, which I probably will, I'll build one in the future. :D

How long does O-Like take to ship, and how much does it cost for someone on the Eastern Shore USA? And does anyone else have this laser? I'm hoping it does all the same things that siqueirah's did.

Although the 18650's last longer than CR123A's, will it reduce the laser's mW power if I use CR123A's?

Well the laser's power declines linearly with the battery's voltage. So a bigger battery will keep the laser at it's rated power for longer.

I just ordered the 100mW transformable from O-Like today. The shipping was $4. I didn't get a charger with it though; I'll look elsewhere for that. Though my main concern about the laser is its duty cycle because it is not listed.

Yea, I figured that. Hmm... guess I'll go with the 18650's. Maybe I can ask them to ship that instead of the CR123A's?
