That looks kinda like what the seller had one in. I will have to look into it. and you say they would come with the corection optics too?

Actually no I dont have the IR protection yet.. It is on the list before I fire up the 5w. just looking now I dont see anything from laserglow that looks like it would work for 5W. The other thing I have thaught about is I would need somethign for 808-1064 and also that would work for the 532 as well wouldnt I?

Actually that is the guy I baught the crystals from lol

I don't know if the prisms are in this one but yea they do come with correction prisms/optics usually.

Here is a set of goggles I found if anyone has an opinion on them.

AGFKTP59X
OD 6 + @ 190-534nm &
OD 5 + @ 720-740nm &
OD 6 + @ 740-1064nm
11.0%
KTP laser alignment and repair, specialty goggles

or there is these

I am also going to contact the seller of these cryystals to see if he has some of the other stuff I didnt buy with the set. If he is selling these 473's I am hopeing that he may just have what I need.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some goggles!! o_0 DIODE ARRIVED!

ALSO!!! This was supposed to include a FAC lense.. Is this FAC lense something I should see easily? or is it microscopic?

and this diode was also listed as new but the - lead looks a little bent like it was used. Should the - lead look strait on a new diode? (First C-mount Maybe I should have taken lasereers advice but a 365$ diode would have hurt) The spec sheet that was send with it looks good but I cant be certain that the diode sent was the same. Any suggestions?

these: DI3 - Pump Diode, KTP, 532nm, 808nm [NR-DI3-EN207] - $147.00

Covers 532nm as well:

Nice, this is like those m-green crysal sets.

Those B+W blue laser labbies would work pretty well with something like that, since they're already TEC cooled, have all the beam shaping and alignment done, and have a power supply + TEC setup (TEC for the crystals too). You really should have that diode TEC cooled.

The lead could have been slightly bent when they tested
the LD. I've seen worse on brand new LDs..

A FAC lens on that LD would be a very small diameter
clear rod (~0.5mm or less) attached in front of the die's
output facet.

BTW where did you buy the 5W LD ?? (link)

See the 2 dabs of clear epoxy on each side of the top of the cmount? They are holding the FAC lens in place. All a FAC lens is is a small length of singlemode optical fiber placed horizontally across the face of the diode, perpendicular to the output beam. The circular cross-section of the fiber acts as a cylinder lens, correcting the fast axis.

Thanks Electro I was wondering what the glue was for and I can indeed see a small fiber there. So I know that the FAC is there anyway's. Wont the glue make mounting the diode a pain or do you just leave the top of the C-mount sticking out above the heatsink mount. I'm going to try to dig up some more threads on these diodes. They are completely unfamiliar to me.. I assume they get sandwiched in a heatsink mounted to a tec plate.

Usually all that's done is the cmount is screwed flat to a heatsink through the center hole, with the front left open, unattached to anything, so that you can access the screw. The beam leaves the middle of the tiny fiber lens. No sandwiching required :).

May I ask where you got the big cristal set from and what is it´s max output?

At least it´s looking really promissing, but I think you will need oc mirrors for a higher output as it doesn´t look like they are mirrowed. The small set is already covered by mirrors, but for the big one you will need an OC and HR morror to get better results.
