Here is my FireDragon, with my large 9mm x 2mm IR filter from an old video recorder installed.

filter1.jpg

How did you open it?
Is it screwed or press fitted?

I want to install an IR-Filter and maybe if possible I want to get a look at the driver board....

btw: mine is drawing 430mA what are your readings?

The cap is press-fit. I *DID NOT* do anything more than take off the top cap and install the IR filter. It did not look easy whatsoever to get to the driver board. Mine is drawing between 310-340mA.

And also, the module is glued in.

It might just be my unit, but when I first got the laser, after 15-20 seconds, it would dip down to extremely low output, and climb back up slowly and stability was not that great. The more I've used it though, it seems to be acting more stable than when I first got it. Is this normal?

mine was modehopping in the first 5 seconds. after that is was stable.

if yours is only drawing ~320mA and mine about 430-450mA it seems they are adjusted to 80mW?!

maybe we can get some other current readings from other members.

BTW: mine is now open but dead. It died on ESD or to much mechanical force...
Shame on me. That was the first time i killed a laser accidently and i opend a lot of them.

Here's a video of my green laser. I took it with the lights off, and the camera kind of makes it look like it's pulsating (which it's not.). Pay attention to 31 seconds in though because it shows the quick flickering I was talking about. After that it stays very stable in output.

Note that this is from a completely cold start (being off for hours). I just did it again shortly after this, and 10 seconds in, it dimmed and went back to normal in about a second and stayed stable from then on with no quick flicker. It does not go to "almost no output" anymore like it did when I first got it.

That isn't even a full "unboxing" since it was already out of the packaging. What did you review on it, lol? I saw you show the keylock, install the batteries and turn it on quick. That was it.

BTW when I said I thought it was getting more stable, that was a fluke. It is horribly temperature sensitive and random as to when it wants to act up.

Yes it is undoxing. (No Full) :) yea, i don't have lot of time to make Full Review.

I test it, it was 130mW with AAA, 196mW with one AAA & one 10440.

The hell would you mix alkalines with li-ion for? That's just asking for trouble.

eytyxhs i noticed you used the DJ MANGO song... called EURODANCER. wiw it0s fantastic.

do you like ITALOdance music?i do. and come from italy... ;) W dance music 2000

..........however IS TOO DANGEROUS mix 1 mimh + 1 10440 lion. there is too much voltage. also one single lion.... is too much for a laser that maybe is designed for 3volt.
