Default Finally purchased a 520nm diode green laser. Canít wait for it.

I have been thinking of getting a 520nm to my collection for a long time. The main reason stops me from doing this because I already own a few 532s and I donít want to spend too many similar thing. After seeing my friendís 520s I decided to get one for myself because 520s actually look more pleasant to me.

I ended up purchased the following model from lazerer because this is the cheapest I can find. Also I have a few good experience from this company.

mini G - 520nm 50mW Pocket Single Mode Green Laser Pointer

I am really excited to get my new laser. Will do a review and let you guys know how it turns out.

Awesome to hear Hibro! 520nm is actually very similar looking to 532nm until you shine them agaisnt one another then you'll notice a pretty big difference! The beam however are quite different if you look hard enough!

Enjoy a shiny new wavelength

Good choice! 520 is a nice forest green, very pure color. You will see a definite difference from 532.

I find 532nm is more yellowest in color. 520nm definitely look more like a real green when comparing both together.

These are from DTR's site. Top pic is the NDG700 @ 1.8a and bottom is 7475 @ 2.0a The 3rd is the 01 GBall

It may be the backlighting, but the NDG7475 looks more blue shifted than the NDG700, it seems to have some yellow.

Maybe the 7475 is closer to 515nm and the 700 is closer to 520nm ?

OR....It may just be a different camera.

I just noticed the color in the pics.
I have been thinking of getting one for a while and actually like the yellow tint better I think, it would be more visible by a slight amount spectrum wise wouldn't it? I also love my 532's but when I get a direct it will be the 700 or the 7475.

RCB, the 7475, at least mine, seems to be 525nm, both by appearance and spectral measurement. It is likely that I got an oddball diode though.
Nevertheless, regardless of which diode you get, there will be no yellow tint - the 7475 looks to me to be an entirely pure green, with no yellow or blue whatsoever.
Even considering it is a very unusual diode, I would not expect mine to be 10nm above average. So it is probably the backlighting (notice the darker background in the second picture.)

The red led segments of the power readout look the same, but the orange power button on the PS looks different, that could be fluorescence?

The pic on the wall is a little darker. If the same camera was used on the same setting then they appear to be different, it could be luck of the draw.

Both these are the 7475 from the same set, looks like color shifts with current.
