Well after 3 long weeks waiting I heard something heavy hit the floor. It was my 5mW laser pointer from LEDshoppe. I'm so impressed with it. The beam is highly visible in the dark and perfect for star gazing can see the beam all the way to the star.

The range is pretty awesome aswell this is only 5mW I'm addicted already. IMO I think this is over speced. In other words I mean its more then 5mW I think. How could I test this without spending alot of money?

Thanks.

Congrats, if you search around you'll find how-tos on them, I've heard of IR thermometers being used as LPMs before.

Thanks, I know there amazing never thought they would be that good. I'm concidering getting a more powerfull one but I need to go and find some decent goggles first and need to save up the pennies.

I would really like to find out what mW they actually are.

Hey, I bought one of the 5mw green pointers on ebay for 8 USdollars w/ shipping. Recieved it today. I wasnt expecting much but I am very impressed with the output. The beam is very visible in the dark but as I expected, no IR filter.

Hi STRONGBOW, (& OTHERS) I'd be happy to measure your lasers out-put power if you'll pay for S&H both ways. I have a LASERBEE I DELUXE & I live in INDIANA. Free of charge of course (except S&H COSTS) rob
