I would like to start a CHALLENGE to see who has the fastest burning handheld green laser.

Object: Burn through a black cd casing in record breaking time!

Here is my best video of my laser peaking strong:

You have to set some standards, otherwise the challenge is useless.
Not all CD cases are the same.

Laser distance, ambient temperature... All these things must be standardized.

That's so stupid! The video does not show when you turned on the laser! WL Green laws can do it in 1.5 sec! So make a standard and show the whole video!

U can tell when the laser comes on by the green light reflected on the wooden board. Same time I put the sticker up in the video. I just wanted to see other peoples videos :)

So about 1 second is slow?

Are you confused by the mandatory FDA delay time until the laser turns on?

Quite a nice challenge. How many mW is that specific laser? I guess just the one with the strongest laser wins here..

Greetings,,

In his sig it tells the power of the laser it says Avrg: 574.9mW Peak: 650.8
I myself have a 800mw green laser that averages 830mw and peaks 910mw so that would probably burn just a little faster than that one. So this is more of a who has the most powerful green laser contest. You should change the rules so it has to be a handheld laser because some people on the forum have 1-3 watt green lab style lasers and they would win.:)

Well in the gaming world of watever FPS games we always have cheaters :)
I can burn in 0.2 seconds if i want to ehmm that is in a video , no details about my little cheat , lets just say that i could made the cd-case thinner.

In my video it's just a normal cd-case with no cheat crap.

Basicly this tread is just for the fun to keep the forum a lilbit alive rather then to see new people asking NOOB questions about why o why did my laser die or can't burn , what laser should i buy ( YAAAAAWN !!!!)

I didnt know about the cheating methods I guess we have to assume people are being honest. So just use regular black cd casings usually the cases for blank CDs and DVDs works best. And make sure its a green hand held laser. Normal room temp. No editing or cheating. Just to make the forum more alive like someone said

Let's see those videos :)

CD/DVD cases can be glossy or matted. Huge difference. There might be even different matted surfaces, which impacts the result greatly.

I'm telling you, your competition is worthless if you don't set strict standards.
Of course, if you just want to goof around, that's OK.

The competition is not worthless because I did set basic guidelines lol If you do not want to try then don't but the competition is only worthless if nobody tries. Don't care how thin your case is, if it's thick or not just shoot a video and try to beat my record. It shouldn't be complicated. This isn't a professional competition like the olympics lmfao. Let's just see some videos and some strong green handhelds. It's a friendly fun challenge relax people lol ... Cheers

stick a cd case in the microwave and also put unfocused laser on the surface to thin it out on both sides

then when it's nice and thin a 100mw will go through it straight away :)
