HI, I am new to green lasers, and I want to know a little about this one. It says it does not have an infrared filter, and I am a little confused as to what protection I need. This laser needs a 532nm safety goggle, but I don't know if it will protect me from the Infrared. If you guys can help me choose some goggles to protect me from the rays of this laser, that would be great! Its a DX true 100mw green laser, without an infrared filter.

The high powered greens haven't gotten good reviews from us here on the forums. I suggest you go for a Nova X-series instead, they are always above spec and the highest quality. They cost a little more though. Click here. You will not be disappointed with it and it has a good IR filter, whereas with the DX (especially >50mW greenies) are largely hit and miss.

If you really want a DX laser you'd be better off with a True 50, True 30 or a Dilda-Lazor. These three have little/no IR (The Trues have a ok IR filter giving ~5mW of IR, and reds don't have IR) The Trues can pop balloons/light matches with a lense.

Concerning goggles Wicked of all things has been known to make good goggles at good prices, link These goggles won't block any IR. You can get goggles that block IR among other colours, but they are more costly.
