It's not that I am protective of DX - the subject has been covered a million times, and folks REALLY should READ - the answers are on here, folks...take some time and effort - there is even a handy-dandy search feature on the forum :)

Holy S*** on a stick!!! DX sells a 10 Megawatt laser!?!?!?

lol, sorry, had to point it out, mw = miliwat, Mw = megawatt. likewise with ma and Ma.

since nobody answered the person's question, though, upto, I think 50mw, they are safe, after that the IR overpwoers the filter and start to leak out (atleast that is my understanding - I know the low-wered ones are safe)

Can you post a picture of the laser, or the product number, to be certain ? I have tested their NEW 10mw greenie, the one powered by a CR2 battery, and found it to be a pretty nice little unit, with less than .01mw of IR leakage :)

And the standard 5-50mw New-Wish lasers that DX sells are very well filtered as well.

That's a new wish laser. It has an IR filter and the IR leakage is not significant.
