30mW Flashlight-Style Green Laser (CR2) - 28.75

Looks like a good price, and I love how it looks.

It'd be great to have just as a nice midrange pointer. Anyone purchased one of these? Because it looks good to me!

Might be addin' this puppy to my collection soon. ::)

Yes --- I have one just like it which I got from kaidomain for $26.31 delivered.

Mine is marked as <50 mW and he is right. Actual output as received was 5 to 10 mW. It is temperature sensative for power and mode hopping. The switch needed serious cleaning and the threads which also carry current needed to be power brushed.

With a fully charged battery and the laser at body temperature, it will put out 50 mW and pop a black balloon. If it is cool, I expect about 10 to 15 mW in two spots. Low battery voltage also starts the mode hopping.

This isn't the DX product but most similar in every way.

so its basically a POS...

Thats why I made this post. Are there any other makers of a green ~20-50mw pointer with a similar body style to that?

Mainly the case, thats what I really like about it.

Take a look in this thread:
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1193766153;start=all

It's my review of the kaidomain 50 mW, but scroll down for info the 30 mW version from Chimo.

Quality seems variable though, the one i got from Kai works fine in terms of power, i'd say fairly close to 50 mW from a rechargeable cell.

A review at the led museum seems similar, he found 30 mW from the supplied battery, and i'm sure its brighter from a rechargeable...
