Dealextreme 200mW for 60$?!

Is it only me or dealextreme reduced the price to the half with the 200mw!?

If it's not an error may i buy it immediatly? The fact is that I looked on comments and theres people saying its a shit others saying its so good others saying it cant pop ballons while othes saying it does instantly..

If I do, may I really beware of it? I mean 200mW cheap laser cant be good for safety I guess, but, what to get then, Green filetring googles or IR fitlering ones?

Someone have the 200mW DX and can tell me his opinion?

There have been threads in the past about this laser. Very cheap now, yes, but quality is all over the map. If you order it, you might get anything between 20mw and 200mw. You may have to RMA it several times, spending months of time and return shipping costs before you get a good one. Then, you will need to buy an IR filter and goggles. It will eat batteries quickly also. Price drop could be due to an overstock because US sales are largely cut off by the new FDA enforcement.

uff... I've heard that about u can get a very random laser instead 200mW, anyone can explain his experience with it?

Because 60$ omg it doesnt matter if i need a filter, i can buy it for 10$~, and about the googles, well they are neither included in a 200mW laser from anywhere.

I'm w8ing the chinese year festival to end cuz either DX and CNI told me to w8 till 2nd February to answer me, but I'm really unsure if I should get the DX one with a filter or directly buying the GPL 125mW (also called viper) from CNI. I guess the difference of price will be so big :/

Quality of these things is just inconsistent.

One way to get a good one would be to order 10 and keep the best of the lot, returning the other 9 for a refund - but i doubt DX will accept that.

Thinking it a bit more I've got a kinda simple question again.

If it comes underpowered it'll be just because it hasn't been adjusted properly right? So adjusting the pot would turn it to the correct power?

It doesnt work like that.. its underpowerd because of, for example, mismatch between diode and crystal set, plain inferior crystals, or similar troubles.

Usually those are not things you can fix yourself.
