Yeah I was wondering if the $26.52 Deal Extreme 30 mW laser pointer is worth the money. I mean I am new to green laser pointers and am looking for something that can maybe pop a dark balloon. Also I have read about IR filters.  Are good to have on the laser pointer? Does it make a power difference. I am basically asking so many questions because I am stuck on what to buy as a first green laser pointer. If anyone has purchased this DX 30mW please share your thoughts on it. What you liked or didn't like about it. Also for a balloon popping and burning first laser, what should I look for? or what is a good first choice at a fair and decent price? Thanks.

EDIT: Also what is "TRUE" XX mW? I have seen other lasers that say TRUE 50 mW. Are these better?

I just ordered 3 of these from DealExtreme 2 weeks ago. I just saw that they "Arrived at US Sorting Center" and one minute later they we "Handed over to US Customs". That was on 8/30, so I assume I will not be getting them.

So your saying they got confiscated by U.S. Customs? LMAO no way man. So you're telling me not to buy one because it will be confiscated? What was the purpose of your post?

True means the output has been tested and they are coming from newwish and the non true are newwish clones and untested but if you search the forums you can find people who have ordered and recieved untrue and true lasers :)

You used EMS, unfortunately they seem to always look what it is when it's used, you shouldn't have paid the extra for fast shipping :( It happened to a couple of people here. You should be ok if you keep the free shipping.

Perhaps they mark the EMS shipments for actual contents. Most things i ordered from DX using regular shipping came in generic brown evenlopes marked 'LED flashlight' and 'gift' as contents.

I'll try the free shipping and see what happens. I was thinking it would help get through with faster shipping...apparently not!

I have both the "true" and non-true versions of the DX30. Both of the true versions are consistent in light output, at least visually, and both will pop balloons from a close distance.

Do they pop balloons without using an additional lens?
