I'm pretty sure it's Pr:YLF that does 607nm. Alternatively, they can do 604nm with Pr:pAYAC setups but if I recall that process is way less efficient and the crystal is way harder to cultivate.

I don't have a lot of faith in the pseudo DPSS thing that orange process is... That said... I think we will eventually see orange lasers, but using diodes instead. Commercial lighting will inevitably move on to at the very least attempt laser lighting. You can buy 622nm diodes for around $500-600 right now as it is.

Yup, Pr:YLF has several transitions, one of them being at 607nm.

Not sure why you'd consider Pr:YLF pumped by ~445nm to be "pseudo DPSS", it is by definition DPSS.

Pseudo DPSS probably isn't the best way to word it. Sounded better than Non-IR DPSS when I typed it

Yep, got my substrates mixed up. Was going from memory. Out of curiosity, what was the quote on 577? And who thinks we should organize a group buy for next year's tax returns? I know I would love to pick up a 594 from CNN directly or maybe even a 589 directly from them.

Right around the $2k mark. Give or take a few hundred based on the power you want... I'm waiting for them to tell me 607 is green-lit before I do 577. I like orange better

Orange would be amazing. I am hopefully looking at a nice change in jobs that would allow me to easily set aside a few thousand for lasers and stuff.

Visually, yeah 532nm & 543nm looks the same if viewed by themselves. Kinda like 520 & 532 and this is going 12nm both ways in the spectrum. I remember viewing 543nm HeNe back when visiting a museum in Paris and at first thought it was 532, and even when right next to it could only make myself believe it was 543 since it was a HeNe and couldn't possibly be 532. Colorwise. Yeah, it looks just like 532 if by itself! :)

The only reason for it would be for wavelength collection purposes, and still $520 for 5mW's of a similar looking green is a steep price to pay, but telling people it's 543 and not your typical 532 might make it worth it from all the jealousy you will get ;)

Edit: Edit: ZRaffle. Do you want me to try giving CNI another ring regarding their PGL-H-V modules, and if 607 is possible? They look like beefier hosts so they make be willing to make them?

After seeing ultimatekaiser's 3 watt 577nm lasing, that is the wavelength I could get excited about. I think I would go about it the way he did and buy the parts piecemeal from various sources and try to get it working as a project. I agree that 543nm is just not that much different from what we already have. Three watts of lemon yellow, that could get my heart racing.

You mean the lab laser? You can give it a shot. Though I personally prefer something more portable though :whistle:

I had asked about the 20-22mm wide DPSS modules (PGL-H) they sell last week and they said they'd need to do some tests before pricing could be discussed. Still waiting to hear something about that, if anything at all.

No. I also mean the portables :D. I just sent Ava a request, should get a reply soon. It also looks like CNI can ship GLP's to Canada(will need to confirm when she gets back to me). So, a GB would need to go through a Canadian member if we decide to have one!

So...If 543nm looks very similar to 532nm...What nm will appear Lime Green...Not Green...Not Yellow...but...Yellow - Green...or Green - Yellow...Whatever...550nm ??? 555nm ??? Somebody must have seen these lines...Maybe not... ???
