What I meant was PL-E Pro features internal focus mechanism---you just rotate a collar to focus--lens moves inside host as in camera single focal lenght lens focus system---host length remains the same.
PL-E Pro is only laser on the market that has that feature---is exepensie to make--with all others you change the length of the host by by unscrewing the lens holding end to move is farther away from the light source.

I agree, J/L has one of the best , smoothest operating focusing mechanisms out there.
One thing I would add is that AFAIK, all of J/L's current products (Equality, Ti-B, & PL-E Pro) have the internal focusing system. :)

Good point. Yes the focus is internal on all of them and they are very smooth functioning.

What I was trying to describe was that focusing the PL-E Pro does not work by means of unscrewing the head end crown which lengthens the host like on the Ti B and Equality, just the rotating of the focus collar.

On PL-E Pro the only visiable external effect on the host is movement of the focusing collar. Is not a system that extends the length of the host itself by rotating/unscrewing the crown end causing a progressivly larger gap betwen the body of the host and the crown as you change the focus. Focusing PL-E Pro does not change the overall length of the host as it does on TI B and Equality.

You're right, I misunderstood what you were trying to explain. :yabbem:

So from what I gather, CNI will still ship high-powered lasers to the U.S. as long as they're disassembled. Am I reading this correctly?

So from what I gather, CNI will still ship high-powered lasers to the U.S. as it's not a complete laser. Am I reading this correctly?

From what the say, it will have to be broken into 3 different parts. Shipped as a module not a handheld laser.
