What laser should i choose and why?
DJNY says it got a IR filter, and is really >200mw.
200mW transformable green laser/adjustable [OLV6200] - $165.00 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

wbp says the 200mw is 450mw, and has about 30mw of IR.
firedragon at DinoDirect.com

some say its good, some say its not.
400mW green laser torch /focusable/waterproof [OL-532-350] - $196.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

Please recommend me because i want to make the puchase within 5 days! :)

EDIT: i choose the transformable greeny from o-like since it was 122 dollars. included DHL shipping :)

if the o-like transformable is a decent stable 200mw green id pick that one, also pricewise and its also easier to focus then the "400mW" one and about dinodirect i cant say much, i read a few things about their lasers and none of them was positive.

also who is wbp? im having a hard time believing that a chineese laser rated for 200mW is actually 450mW with 30mW ir:thinking:

I'd say go for the 200mW transformable O-like laser. It has a IR filter plus it's in the correct price range for that power ( for reasonable quality lasers of course ).
O-like has a good reputation so you can't go wrong either way, but I think that in that price range the 400mW one is either underspecced quite a bit or it simply lacks the IR filter so I'm guessing it has quite a lot of IR. It's just too cheap for 400mW of green.
So unless you really need it to be waterproof, go for the 200mW transformable one.

you also confirm it has a IR filter?

im also a bit worries about dinodirect. ALL, i mean ALL reviews of those firedragon lasers are "verified buyers" but never say anything about burning capabilities or power meter tests. all bad-english reviews to.
And i asked on forum for experiences and then a dinodirect staff member replied saying its a great product and i cant go wrong with them.

you mean the reviews on the site of dinodirect? will most likely be fake reviews, we have seen allot of those on chinese sites

o and also to clarify why i wont pick up the "400mW" not yet , theres still to little known about it.
it might be awesome or a let down.

well that one has been around for some time and the "400mW" is just new and might still have some "bugs" in them..

and by bugs i dont mean beetles and flies and such :p

tbh i would wait a while to see how those "400mW" are doing.

I have the Dino Direct "Firedragon III 200mw" unit that is referred to here. The one I got is amazing. I consistently measure 450 mW using a brand new Laserbee 1. I checked the calibration of the LB1 against a Nova X150 and it is consistent. I have had excellent customer service from DD. We (folks in my astronomy club) have ordered 4 GLP's from them now and all have been promptly shipped and arrived within the expected time.

Who knows if the unit I got is a fluke or not. It definitely burns, it will put a hole in 1/2" black foam in under 60 seconds. It has a fatter beam than most GLP's I'm seen, but it's so bright it works well that way. I could probably refocus it if I wanted to - the focus adjustment is secured with a small dab of paint or something like it.

I will eventually post a review of this but I work for a living and have a 9 year old kid, so I have to have priorities...

I've been looking at the 400mw. O-like is pretty good. I'd try it, if it were me.

Readings were taken with whatever built-in filter is in it. Using an IR Pass filter I measured ~30 mW.

William

it really sounds nice. i think im going for that laser then...
even if its not like yours...>250mw of green without IR would already be cool.

btw i wanted to share this laugh.
a review of the firedragon III 250mw:
This lase pen i bought several days ago offers bright light. Green light is brighter than red light. Design is innovative and stylish. You should try it! Very good.
not a genuine review i think :p
