Default the CHEAPEST antigreen glasses. 2$!

look here

DealExtreme: $2.09 3D Decoder Glasses for Secret Messages with Special Red Lenses

you will not trust me.........BUT i noticed that the CHEAP red and thin plastic lense of an anaglyph 3d lense... is A GOOD GREEN BLOCKER: i tryed my 50mw laser... hey... the dot that pass is a bit green but more reddish....almost invisible dot...... so it only pass the ir!!! good...

ok.... you winn not trust in these cheap goggles.... but you can buy TWO of them and use together seriously.... my RIGHT lense of 3d glasses i own.. really block a true 50mw laser.

so i think this double red glasses(??????to use in which film?????) can really work well.

pics is done with red glass in front of my n73 camera.... but in realty if i shine the laser throught the glasses...the dot is LESS SHINING than the photo(almost invisible i repeat )

I'm sure it will give you some mild protection, but why not spend just a few dollars more and buy the ones from Focalprice?

because for laser of about 50/70mw... that are the most sold and owned by a normal laser ehtusiast..... these cheap goggles are good enough.... IMHO. yes.. over 100mw. i would buy not the focalprice... put just a CERTIFIED OD+ goggle... but until 70mw of green .i think this is safe.

Hmm maybe... But I still wouldn't buy a <1 mm thin bendable little piece of plastic, that wasn't even designed for laser protection in the first place, when just $6 more buys me a far more solid piece of kit. It's still no match for proper certified goggles of course, but at least I'd feel a bit safer.

They might all right for some, but I agree with spending a little more money to get some that were actually designed for lasers, certified or not. Besides, they don't cover all your vision. You'd have to tape them to your face...

Good find but I have to agree with Svensson. The focalprice goggles have been tested by some trustworthy members here( I don't mean you are a liar, in no way ) and seem to be working quite good. So I 'd suggest not to spend 2 bucks on a pair of goggles which might not block as much light as you need them to. Instead spend $6 more and you have a cheap solution to protect your eyes.

in realty..... i thino noone person use red glasses to protect themselves.... while use laser........ i've never used glasses.... .. BUT the most important moment when you would have red goggles.. is WHEN YOU ARE BURNING things at near distance. and you only need a way to don't burn your eyes.. with too much light. and for 2$ they do good work.

it is supposed that who buy these goggles.. is not for point direcly in eye but just as LIGHT ATTENUATOR while burning

i think no one boy play wit laser with red goggled. you won't see any dot/beam....... WHERE IS THE FUNNY moment? and if you only want butn things... i suppose is too much to spend more than 35$ to buy GOOD goggles.....to use only as light attenuator.

ehehe i stop here my meaning. i only posted this INFORMATION of 2$ goggles........then everyone can do everything.

AHHHhh...4 example you could buy these to use with FRIENDS ad home... etcc....(do you buy 35$ goggles to 5/6 fiends? :P :P

you give them this goggles... better than "nothing"!... because "nothing" is what you give them in most cases.

How about before you start recommending these 3D glasses and power ranges to everyone, you use a power meter to test if it is safe? This is extremely stupid to reccomend to others this kind of eye protection with 50-70mw range lasers that are more then capable of instantly blinding you. This is childish behaviour, eye protection is a must in this hobby and reccomending inaccurate, unproven and frankly made up facts is just utter stupidity. Please spend the extra few $ and get the proper eye protection that will do its job when needed!

Thing is, people like me come on these forums because I seek the advice of those clearly far more knowledgeable about lasery things than myself. The LPF a well respected forum, and generally I will take the advice of the respected members here.

The point I'm trying to make here is not that LPF members have some sort of responsibility, it's just that I was looking to buy goggles recently, and it can be unclear as to what I should and shouldn't buy. Topics like these do NOT help.

Ok fine.. Don't listen to me... Go wear some 3D glasses and point a 50-70mw laser in your eye. If you don't do it, it is because you know better and my post was justified... If you do, do it, then you really have no clue what the potential of a 50-70mw green laser can do to your eyes.

i don't want that everyone get angry with this thread..... i know that a certified laser goggle is the perfect solution..... i only said that a lot of people don't use goggles while play with laser..... but everyone would a "light attenuator" while burn things... and this goggle at 2$.... and the 8/10$ focalprice goggles.... seems to be nice for THIS KIND OF USE........ you can watch the burning point... stop.
