Can't Decide Between The Two

I'm trying to shake off my ignorance, and have been enlightened somewhat by the members of this forum and I am so thankful that I've donated and will try to be a monthly donor.
I have discovered that many people seem satisfied with O-Like's products and there are two that have caught my eye.

This: 200mw in host

and this: 200mw DIY module
I've given up on looking for a bargain and now I think I just want the best I can afford...
Are these good options?
I'm open to suggestions but my limit is about $130, and preferably a company that's inside the US. Of course I have no idea where O-Like is...but they've gotten great reviews...

I didn't do a good job summarizing (and still probably won't)
So, the specs are:

Green
200mw (or close!)
Either in a Host or DIY module with collimating lense. Only want to add a battery.

<$130
Preferrably in the USA but Outside the US is considered.

well though I don't know about the module, I do know about the completed o-like laser. I ordered the same item and have had it for about a month and a half now. I am in love with it. when comparing to my Nova X-50 (61mw) it looks up to spec. I have not had any problems with the laser. the only minor problems are that it has a fair amount of scatter and it mode hops for the first second. After that the beam is in tem00 but with power instabilities. It's really only noticeable when the laser is unfocused and when looking at the laser light reflected off my ceiling.

the host also has a lock on it which is good so the laser can't turn on when it is not intended to do so. It was so worth getting for $150 (ems shipping. I'm impatient.) I highly recommend this product.

Oh and I forgot to mention the divergence on my laser. maybe it was a freak laser but I calculated it's divergence to be about .9 mRad.

Thanks for the information!

I actually just learned this company is in China - which is fine, except that I really want a "high power" green laser in under a month. I actually am expecting a few things coming from price angels and dino direct... and Having ordered from them both before, I know I've got at least a two week wait at best, probaby four weeks..

Thanks,

cad I think I can help you a lot. This laser I'm posting was reviewed by a few members and seems to be up to spec. There's only two things... It's ONLY 30$ and it's located in the USA! should be near 100mw which is a damn good starting power. I have a meter so if you wanted to negotiate somthing I could help. Anyhow good luck finding your laser my friend! I hope you find exactly what your looking for :)

Thanks,
Jeff

eBay regulates lasers pretty heavily. the # is the actual output. These lasers are not filtered and I'm not sure what the % of ir they actually output. However for 30$ you can't go wrong. If I didn't already have a 100mw filtered laser I'd take that superbeast. I would keep an eye out because he actually sells pretty high powered lasers over 200 mw I just don't know what the ir % is again. You might be able to read sone reviews and see what you can find. Again I wish you the best of luck and hope you get exactly what your looking for!

Thanks,
Jeff

I've just completed an Impulse buy on the #200 happiness inducer. If only the #300 had been just a little lower!

I have one more IR filter lying around that'll go on after the first test....

That seller has a few other things I may end up getting also.

Thanks for shining a light on things :)

Just got the #200 laser and I am returning it unless someone can convince me that there is a way to unlock it's secret potential. It came in at 28mW on the laserbee.

Turning it on I could tell right away it was weak. Maybe I got a bad unit. I wrote the seller a message requesting a refund and I guess I'll ship it back at a loss.

I tested the battery and it was reading 3 volts.
But after reading that review I have to wonder - is my 3volt battery supposed to be charged to 4+volts - and is this likely the reason I got a low reading?
Even with a battery @ 3volts shouldn't it still be higher than 28mW?
I would have charged it - but there was no charger and I thought it was supposed to come with one.
I get the feeling I'm wrong and should get a fresh battery before giving up on it.

How long did it take for shipping? Rather, that is if you are in the USA, since O-like is in China (I think).

I have an LPM, thankfully...though I wouldn't have needed it to see that the last laser that claimed to be in the 200mW range was really in the 30mW range...
I've wasted a lot of time & now return shipping (+insurance) to get my money back but I think the seller is honorable and it was a bad unit (who knows for sure?). I sent it back a couple of days ago and I'm now waiting for a refund.

I hope yours is good 'cause I want to know where to get one!
