Can't decide

Well after being so impressed with my DX true 50 i need something more powerful so i already have my heart set on nova and its X-series. The problem of course is i can't decide between the X100 or X125. Will the X125 be more likely to have mode hopping issues? i also keep worrying that if i were to buy the 100 that i will wonder what the 125 would be like. This pretty much has to be the last laser i buy so i want it to be a good one. ;) Also the extra $120 for the X125 will probably make it much harder to convince my parents to let me spend my money on it. I'm stuck :-/ I know this has been brought up before but what do you guys think?
Thanks! :)

I would go with the X100...the difference between the two will not be that much. We know Nova under rates their lasers. My X105 peaks at 128mw's consistently, and has gone as high as 138mw's. Of course the average and peak power of the X125 will be higher and it could be as much as a 25mw or so difference. I really don't think the extra money is worth it. Just my opinion. As far as mode hopping I really don't know.

From what I know, NOVA uses the same pump diodes in their X-series.The more powerfull models have bigger and better crystal matrixes(could be wrong though). So in theory, there shouldn't be a difference in mode hopping likelyness. :p

Thanks gazoo! i think the x-125 might be a little out of range unless i get more than 55 hours of work in before the end of January. Who knows maybe i'll be able to. Will it have the same burning capabilities? cause i don't want the X100 to suffer in the "burn department." BTW i bought sanyo eneloops for my DX50 and they work great! thanks! ;D And thanks switch that makes since cause they all use 500mW pump diodes right?

cbrian4,
Glad you like the eneloops... :) I agree with ngiapy...the difference in power does not really justify the price difference...and if you had the two to compare side by side there would not be a a huge difference. But if you get the funds I say go for it..however remember you can buy a lot of optics and things with $120.00. Just something to think about ;)

just to go off topic a little, may i ask how what voltage does enelopes output?

ngiapy they output around 1.45 volts each fresh off the charger. But it has a better and more steady current flow than alkalines
