I also have a DX true 100mW and it doesn't light matches, even with black head. It may have something to do with modehopping of my laser. But I can pop balloons easily with it.
jiannis, I know that this sounds odd, but some kinds of matches light easier than others, whether they have a black spot on them or not. strange, no ? Try matches from several other different "BOOKS" & then put the black spot on them. Hope this helps ya out...............rob
Given the "ideal match" (very dry, dark color not waxed or varnish covered, etc.) and a well focused tiny spot, less than 60 mW will light a match. -Glenn
