I went to a place called Lower Falls for a week. 18 miles east of Mt.St.Helens on the Lewis River. 32 sites, 4-2man shitters and one hand pump for water. We found that when we shone the laser into the trees at night the beam will find its way through here and there and go maybe 1000 feet through virgin forest. The campfire smoke was great when I made a "line generator" with my hand rotating the beam side to side. Had a couple people "how cool, where do you get a laser like that!" Optotronics.com of course. The falls at night was lots of fun with the laser but I couldnt get any fish to bite at the laser. I want to look into a line generator for looking at the smoke swirlys.
I used a car accessory jack dc converter. From 12v I could select 3, 6,9 or 12 volts at increasing amperage. I used the 6v @ 600mA into the 18650 recharger. It seemed to work but I'm not educated enough about electricity to know if I was using the right Amps/ volts for my input to the recharger. The transformer seemed very hot after the green "recharged" light came on.
Because of international shipping I wasnt able to get my bluray in time for the trip but maybe next time.
I can still smell that mix of lysol and shit for some reason from the shitters.

Sounds good fun, me and my dad are going to go camping and we're gonna take 2-3 30mW pointers and scare some other campers :p Still wish I had an RPL for the sheer WOW factor :D

I brought a 30mW Romisen laser camping and it really is a blast. Must have been really cool with a more powerful laser like that one.

As for your recharger, it might not like trickle-charging the batteries at such high amperages.

I took my Nova x-45 and my dilda camping. Let some kids use them and I ended up searching in the dark for my rubber button for the nova and the spring for my dilda. Found em. Gotta stop being so nice though...mistake.

Helps to tell them that they can permanently blind themselves if they mishandle the things. Scares some respect into them.

I've ordered another 3 Romisens :p, one for me , one for my dad, and one for a friend. I gotta get an X75 though, 30mW just isnt enough any more, and I cant be bothered waiting to save for an RPL, I can get that with my birthday / christmas money

I remember when I camped with my old X105, I shined it in the trees with a starfield diffraction grating and some nearby campers came by too see what it was. ;D

FYI: I found long ago, the fish love to go for the red lasers, (636, 650, even 780 early ones). I thinks its their sensors are tuned more towards head/infrred, and they see the red as warm pray. Also, red is the commonest color in ocean fish for some reason.
