Hello!

Ive been searching the net for a laserpointer.
I want something that reaches far away, but I will aslo burn stuff :p
And I also want a good visible beam.

I have found this http://www.o-like.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=996 pointer.
Would it be good? Is it IR filter on it?

What extra stuff should I get?

I dont want it too expensive cause here in Norway I have to take the price x 25%... Hehe So it'll get expensive anyways. hehe

Thanks!

Hi If you are in the USA then I highly recomend Optotronics for your laser. This way you can count on a good quality laser with a good IR filter. Look here at their pointer page: http://www.optotronics.com/green-laser-pointers.php

I just recently bought the Premium +150mW laser......wow it is bright and burns well. Sure they may be priced a little higher than those in China and for good reason, the quality is better, you get what you pay for. Plus you don't have to deal with customs. Here are a few photos of the laser: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28780020@N07/

The link you psted looks like it may be a good first laser. However the beam divergence 1.5~2.5mrad is not so great. If you get one with a divergence of 2.5mrad then you will have a laser with a big spot in a short distance and it will not travel to far.
Hope this helps.

You really should read the forum before asking. Theres a post next to yours about this laser you ae willing to buy. Avid it, go for the 120mW+ pen or just buy the module.

Albert

Well, consider buying the module, really. Your just need to put 3.6V on it (buy a CR123 batterie). Buy a holder for the batterie and put it in some host (anywhere to put the batterie and the module) Build a switch by yourself and a heatsink there you have it. If you want a better option, buy a flashlight host (we usually do this here), and a heatsink with the sizes you need (ask other members). This way you have a nice laser with GREAT output and GREAT prize.

I alredy told you, depending on wich class of laser you want. Asuming you do not care about how do the laser look, you can put it in the first plastic box you find. The only important thing is the heatsink, battery and charger, wich is about... 10$? Also if you are not gonna use rechargeables, then the cost is just about the heatsink and wires (3-4$)

If you want it in a good host, the coleman (use search function to see how does it looks) is about 10$, then again heatsink and the 2CR2 it use plus charger, is less than 20$

Albert
