Hey guys. im new to the site and new to lasers. I just bought a cheap green 5mw laser off ebay.. and i want to upgrade, still looking for a green only because it seems so bright.. unless someone can change my mind.. i was hoping for a laser that could pop balloons, light matches, have an adjustable beam, very long distance beam. I was thinking around 150mw?. would that be possible?

Anyway im after a good laser that lasts! thats the main thing.
my budget around around $100au

Please link me to where i can buy a good quality laser or to someone that can build me one.

Im in australia so i dont want batteries.

i was about to order this after reading some decent reviews, but not sure if the beam is adjustable (i want to it to go real thin to burn stuff easy)... and it only says it goes for 200-800 meters, here are the specs

Hi and welcome to the forum! :) Please read the stickies and try to get laser safety glasses before buying a laser.
If that laser comes with them, even better. I don't know much about this laser, but it looks like it is fixed focus.
Since you are in Australia (I assume) it can be hard to get lasers past customs. I would recommend asking one of the Australian members for more information.

You need to know the safety precautions first, before you think about getting a high power laser and a 150mw green will blind you in an instant with a direct hit to the eye no doubt about it. We have a rules section to read that tells you what you need to know to stay eye safe and get to know the basics about lasers . That 5mW eBay laser is probably a lot more than 5mw already, so you need to be careful with that one to start with .I have 20 green eBay pens and only one is 5mw all the rest are from 15 mW to 95 mW .And as to customs in Australia very hard to get in lasers there are ways but until you have shown you know the safety aspects first and respect just how dangerous they are i doubt anyone will tell you. So get some googles first read the stickies on safety and the basics, use your eBay pen until you know what its capable of then think about getting more powerful green lasers.Safety and knowledge first then fun, Not other way around....as to your budget you will need most of that amount just to get a good pair of safety googles ,before thinking about getting a 150mw green

thanks for the reply guys... yes i am always very cautious with my one and i plan to buy goggles at the same time.
This site pretty much guarantees getting through customs, if not they will refind or send another.
Im really here for a recommendation for laser that will light a match and a bright long beam around 100-150mw. And reliable going to last like longer than a year. Iv also been looking at o-like but i heard to stay aware from them.
Surely someone has a laser im after that they have had for a while they can link me to in my price range around au$100. :)

whats the better one here?
