Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I'm overly ignorant.

I'm trying to find a powerful green laser sight for my compound bow. I intend to use it next season for bowfishing carp. Right now I have a Light Stryke (Amazon.com: OMP LightStryke Laser Bowfish Sight: Sports & Outdoors) which is designed for bowfishing but is only 5mW. I got it mainly because it was cheap and gives me something to mount a new laser to if I decide to upgrade.

Now I have done a little searching. So far I've read a thread or two on this forum recommend AixiZ's 35mW green laser sight. Keep in mind I am hoping to use this during the day without straining to find my green dot. Typical shots will be under 10 yards. I have little experience with lasers so I'm not sure how visible a 35mW green laser is going to be during the day at that distance.

Also, I found another website selling a 50mW green laser sight: 50mW Green Laser Gun Sight

I tried searching the forum here for any threads or reviews of this persons products and didn't get any hits. I did send an email asking about the product and if it's a "true" 50mW laser and not some over stated pile of junk. I got an email today from a Hellen saying:
It's true 50mW, you can make the payment by paypal. If you're not satisfied, you can easily get refund.
So if anyone knows if this is a scam sight or a poor quality product, let me know haha. I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks for reliability and quality.

Another idea I was tossing around is shelling out my Light Stryke or a similar cheap laser sight. Again, I'm not sure if I wanna go this route cuz it takes more time, etc. But I was eyeballing the green laser modules at O-Like. It doesn't appear to be that difficult to slap one of those things into a shelled laser sight but I've never done it. So I'm not really sure if that's the route for me.

I'm also curious if there should be any safety concerns with pointing lasers at the water. My eyes are valuable to me :) I don't wanna F them up.

To sum it up, I'm trying to find an appropriate green laser sight than can be easily seen during the day without burning a hole in my eyes. Any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

I checked out that armlaser site in your second link, and in the 445nm laser section they list "The most powerful handheld laser in the world, 1000mW true power blue laser pointer."
Then directly below that they have a 2000 mW model
That kinda stuff steers me away from unkown sites

Ya. That and the poor English skills are always a red flag for me. I figured as much. Just wanted a second opinion haha. So, any advice on the green laser sight?

I'm a DIY sorta guy myself. If it was me I'd swap the module in your current sight

Will I still be able to adjust windage and elevation? I assume that's something independent from the laser module.

Probably not the best idea to be shooting fish...

You're going to have problems with both reflection and refraction.

I can see a possible issue with reflection but refraction? Unless a laser behaves differently than other light sources it should bend in water like everything else. That's kinda why they designed a laser sight for bowfishing. It's supposed to take the guess work out of aiming low. All you should have to do (in theory) is put the green dot on the fish and pull the trigger.

Am I wrong?
