i posted this before but haven't found a solution yet. my 500mw green laser has what i think is a dirty lens because the dot has a blurry, speckly pattern around it which is very annoying. i have used cotton buds to try and clean it but not much change, please if you have any tips let me know. thanks.:thanks:

Cotton buds probably either scratched the lens or atleast left fibers on the lens. Using compressed air may help.

Alcohol should work. I have never had to clean a lens on one of my lasers yet but I also use "Zeiss lens cleaning wipes" on other lenses and electronics, I buy them at Walmart. Is the lens removable and is it a standard type of lens? If so you could replace it if necessary. If its a 532nm green its DPSS, this raises the possibility that its more than just a dirty lens. Unfortunately the optics can be complex. See this to understand what I mean: http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/dpss1.gif
