BTW, those goggles do even better for 445nm but they can work for 532nm. If you get anything above like 200mW you may want to consider better goggles for once your wallet recovers from the laser costs :p

I'll keep that in mind. I just want some protection so that I can feel comfortable firing the laser inside my home. I'll primairly be using it outside for stargazing. Once I'm confortable with the device, I doubt I'll use goggles when outside. We'll see though.

Shameless plug...

I have a very nice pen pointer, 150mW, IR filtered, CNI module, excellent beam specs, runs off of two AAA batteries. Looking to get $130 or so for it. I will be posting a FS thread with 3-4 lasers in it tonight, but if anyone is interested, shoot me a PM :)

I'm going to part with at least 3 lasers... now I just need to psyche myself up to select which I can let go off:p

For the moment I'm thinking 200mW Lazerer classic, 150mW Skylaser, 150mW that I mentioned in the thread, a 1.2W 445nm siphik mini, with a hydra focus adapter and three modes. Also definitely a 300mW krypton.

Sounds like a good lineup. Which model and wavelength is the 150mW skylaser?

It's the green, HL532. It starts off at ~110mW, and works up to around 180-190mW over 2-3 minutes before staying at ~170mW or so. I'd like to get ~$135 total for it, to cover shipping, pp, etc, I prefer to ship priority not parcel since it does save on time. It will come with the nice original case, key, safety dongle, and battery.

No offense to you bro but honestly that's $5 cheaper (or $5 more if you use a discount) than a new one from skylaser with FedEx 3-4 day shipping. Maybe the price has changed since you last looked or something.

None taken.

From laserbtb right now;

handheld 150mW (FDA) 0.5 Kg
$ 108.33

handheld 200mW (FDA) 0.5 Kg
$ 141.30

From My LPM, readings taken on a fully charged IMR battery:

My LPM has an offset of minus about 3-4mW so this laser actually hits 200mW peak, and I'm not selling it as, or asking for, the 200mW price, or even more for FedEx ;)

So I believe ~$135 is a fair price for a laser that's been extensively tested, used very little (going over it, it's basically "like new") and will likely arrive to a buyer in the US within 2-3 days. I'll also ship it same, or next day, after receiving payment.

The output is very nice this is true. The output considered including shipping is not bad. Is that one you received from the GB? That would explain the output since the lasers were given extra care to be over spec.

For anyone else, that laser performs above spec by a chunk but, keep in mind anyone buying a 150mW model has the chance(while very, very slim) of receiving one of an output like this.

Now that I see just how high above spec it is I would agree that the price for a guarantee output like that is not bad.

No this one I got a longer while back. The group buy lasers are even better... and I will be buying more of them when the next GB comes around.

Obviously there is never a guarantee that a laser will be overspec, but so far very few from sky have been not overspec, and even those, still pretty decent, close to spec. AFAIK there were only two or three in the GB underspec, and only one that was very underspec.

If someone is willing to wait/get one in the next GB in late january, february, there is no way I'll compete with that price :p

I agree about skylasers being great so far for their lasers being on or over spec. My 300mW 532nm peaks at 342mW and is stable at almost exactly 300mW so id say its pretty much right on spec if not a little above.

I can't wait till the next GB, assuming I have money, I will definitely have to grab something.

So I just got my laser today, but I haven't fired it up yet. It's making a fun rattling noise... I assume the crystal is free from the housing. Should I try turning it on? What do?

Turn it on and see what happens. Its possible something insignificant is loose. You can't tell without firing it up or just sending it back. Either way its a little silly not to at least try for a short run.

Yeah, it's borked :/ I just sent a second e-mail to LaserBTB to discuss my options. Hopefully they're willing to work with me to get it resolved.

I am sure they will work with you. Just allow for a little extra time because of the holidays. I wonder if your lasers got damaged in transit. Mine came wrapped so heavily in tape and cardboard that I think it could have survived a warzone. Malav, what laser did you get?
